Great place to visit if you are looking for traditional diner food. Tons of options to choose from, with portions that are made for second dinners at home. Servers are friendly and efficient, although I would suggest arriving early for breakfast as it tends to get busy and service slows. Atmosphere is clean and welcoming.

The Lantern Diner is a family-oriented restaurant serving amazing comfort food the right way. Since opening its Doors once again in 2014 under new management, The Lantern Diner has become once again the Landmark of Hempstead, thanks to our beloved communi
I love burgers but this one looked very nice and was perfect medium rare...but totally dry and difficult to swallow. The rolls on our burgers were huge, but sweet (not s great accompaniment to meat). And they considered charging for fresh onion. Huh? My husbandâs turkey burger deluxe needed a reminder to bring the included onion rings. I must say the fries were fabulous... burning hot, freshly made.

Terrible service. Ordered coffee, it never was served but we were charged for it. The pastrami sandwich, which we intended to share was served open face. I was very disappointed and will not return.Too bad.

This diner serves large portions of well prepared foods in a pleasant environment. The platters came quickly and all of our special requests were fulfilled. The bathroom was clean, and well stocked. Service is friendly and the owner was anxious to talk about his homeland with our Greek friends.
