We were shopping at Ace Hardware in Lincoln Park and looking for somewhere to go for lunch. We discovered Georgeâs Diner....and we were pleasantly surprised. This is what I would have called a luncheonette in the past. Itâs a small, clean, friendly local place to enjoy a meal whether itâs breakfast, lunch or dinner. One of the lunch specials was soup and a half sandwich. I chose the homemade chicken orzo soup and homemade chicken salad sandwich-both were delicious. Good, friendly service, clean, well-maintained diner. We look forward to eating here again.

After a business meeting we ordered takeout at this diner. A year ago we visited this diner and the food and service was great. This time we ordered breakfast entrees including eggs, toast and waffle combo. It was absolutely horrible and uneatible. The scrambled eggs were hard, no toast was included, the sausage was turkey sausage with a bad taste, and the waffle batter had too much water. The dessert was supposed to be tiramisu, but it wasn't. All in all, we were not able to eat this meal and were extremely disappointed. I do not recommend this diner.What you're describing sounds like a far cry from the delicious diner classics we've made our name on -- I'm concerned that this was your experience. Everything you ordered, from the scrambled eggs to the waffles, should have been incredible, and if it wasn't, we want to know about it so we can do our best to make it right in the moment. We went there on a Sunday morning the parking lot was empty which I thought was pretty weird. This was the first sign . We sat down and the waitress asked what we wanted to drink. I asked for orange juice and they said they were out of orange juice. We asked for green tea and she said they were out of that. The pancakes were horrible . They were very dry and no taste. After we left I saw other diners that were packed along the way. We do not live in the area. Definitely would not go there again.

Can't say enough good things about this place. This was our first time here. The place is meticulous and the service is perfect. Food is delish. I had basic eggs, bacon, toast and homefries. It was a special, and came with juice and coffee. Very reasonably priced. My friend got the Grand Slam. It came with a cheese omelette, ham, home fries, and a short stack of pancakes. The pancakes were huge, light and fluffy. Huge slice of ham (you could choose bacon or sausage if you want). Everything was so fresh and tasted so good. Generous portions. Can't wait to try their lunch specials!!! Great find!
