Our waitress, took our order without writing anything down,(there were 6 of us so my first thought was....this is going to be a disaster). But to our surprise everything was delivered as ordered, nice a hot. The waitress, (wish I could remember her name) was awesome, food delicious with large portions. So kid friendly that they offer a gift to all kids from their "treasure chest" of sorts at the front door. Our go to place for breakfast.
Traveling to Sandy Hook New Jersey for an early morning birding trip we needed quick wholesome nourishment and Jillaney's Luncheonette was the perfect choice. This old school luncheonette has a traditional warm, welcoming ambiance. The spotless eatery appears old but is actually a new arrival to this town. Jill the owner was also the cook, waitress and greater. She did it all with a smile and kind words for the many visitors, mostly locals who entered her eatery. This is the kind of place that you enter feeling good and leave feeling even better for the experience. The walls were graced with positive affirmations and the resident amiable bird Jimmy, who lives next door can be heard talking and singing. We had traditional breakfasts: The scrambled eggs were extra delicious (I did not ask Jill her secret). The prices are very reasonable and the coffee was bold, smooth and delicious. Breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner was available.

I saw the diner on television and heard that it was rated one of the best diners in New Jersey. I ordered a waffle, sausage links and scrambled eggs with cheese. The food came hot and quick. It looked wonderful. The sausage links had that snap I like. The waffle was a Belgian waffle. It was light but no seasoning. It needed a lot of syrup. I do not knot know if this is my misyake, when I order scrambled eggs with cheese I should not have to say, "scramble the cheese into the eggs." I think it is lazy to put the cheese on top. Plus I found a part of the shell. The staff was very nice. I will try it again but that diner in Harrison is still the best in my eyes and I wanted the best to be in my neighborhood.
I have stopped in here on occasion to get sandwiches and have always enjoyed their food. The quality of the cold cuts is great (they use Boars Head) and their bread always tastes fresh. The store also sells snacks, sodas and other items you may find in convenience stores.

My wife (girlfriend at the time) and I stopped here on Vacation in Sandy hook and loved it. Very clean, good food and the waitress was friendly. We inquired about the name having a 2 in it and were told they had a second diner, but I can't recall the location. To sum this place up I would say that it wasn't mind blowing, but it was a cut above most of the diners I've been to.
