This is a very good, small, hometown style diner. We went for breakfast. The menu was expansive and everything we got was good. I had eggs, bacon, and pancakes. My sister and mom had omelettes, and my niece had a waffle with chocolate chips and whipped cream. It was all good. Waitress was cute as a button and the service was A+. If I lived here it would be the kind of place I would frequent often.

Black Bear Diner is a popular restaurant in Katy. We finally made it. I liked the Black Bear theme. The chain started in Mount Shasta, California. It has expanded along the West Coast and into Texas. The Diner has lots of beautiful wildlife bear pictures and wooden bear carvings. They strive to give you good service and lots of home made delicious food. We enjoyed their popular Pot Roast with Corn Bread Stuffing and Onion Rings. My wife liked the Alaskan Salmon.The Coconut Crème Pie for dessert was very good.With such large portion sizes, I would recommend coming here for lunch instead of dinner. The service was good although a little slow.I imagine their breakfast will also be good and we want to try it. We're anxious to return.

This is one of our favorites for breakfast. Our visit last week-a weekday-did not go perfectly, but the manager quickly remedied the problem and we were more than satisfied. This place is consistently very good, and I still highly recommend it for breakfast!
