When you are looking for food at the airport you just never know what you were going to get. I was incredibly impressed by our recent stop into the Silver Diner at the airport. We landed at around 7 a.m. and had 90 minutes to kill and luckily for us this Diner was near our terminal. Not only do they serve breakfast all day but you can get other menu items in the morning.I started with a mimosa and had the Kickin Crab and corn chowder. There was a lot of corn but it was delicious! My husband got the farmers 3 egg skillet. All airports should have an option like this. They used locally-sourced food products for many of their menu items, they had lots of non-GMO ingredients which is very important to me and there are so many items to choose from. This is well worth your time to seek out if you have a layover in this airport or if you land and are hungry.

This tiny restaurant has a following and understandably so. The food is fresh, they try to access local farms for their fresh food. Don't expect fast food, this is carefully prepared fresh food and worth waiting for. Two of us had the Pesto chicken sandwich special, mine with so good creamy cucumber salad, hers with applesauce, and my husband had the grilled chicken crab dip burger that reportedly was good and rich.

We are big fans of the Silver Diner. We go to the Rockville location all the time. We had a late flight so we planned to have dinner here. The service was outstanding but the food and food selections did not appear to be the same as at the other stand alone locations. We were not disappointed, it's just that it did not seem as good as it usually is back at the Rockville location.
Potbelly is a chain and their sandwiches are pretty good. They also have excellent, hand-dipped milkshakes that are not overpriced. My go-to here is generally ham and swiss that is run through an oven so it gets yummy, toasted and melty. I also had the Cuban sandwich which was good. They use pulled pork which was tasty if a little on the dry side. For a sandwich chain, Potbelly is reasonably priced and much better than Subway
