We ate breakfast at Gramma's this morning. We left Canada this morning and traveling home to Texas. The resturant is like an old fashion diner. People seem to know one another. It has a homey and welcoming feel. The breakfast was delicious, the portions were large and the prices were very reasonable. I had 2 eggs, 2 pancakes and harsh browns. The price was 9.95. The food was very good and the waitstaff was very attentive. I highly recommended it.

buddy bought breakfast - he recommended the special. The restaurant is older - and VERY much in need of updating. it's been many things... now it's seasons. Server didn't know about specials and had to check - her explanation of how the specials work felt like it was her first day on the job. food was fine, the pancakes in my opinion were a yawn. eggs and bacon good, bacon a little underdone - no biggie. this is nothing special - it's just a different place to eat. prices were okay. servers were friendly. bathrooms were dirty and used up. entry way is cluttered and used up. lights above diners were pretty dusty.

Great service great food. Plenty of food and good value for your dollar. Exciting entertaining good family restaurant that caters to all needs and tastes. Cinnamon bread and peanuts really excite the kids before their meals even come.

We stopped here for dinner one evening while in town. We ordered a couple of sodas, hamburgers, and fries. Hamburgers were good, really liked the fries, but the sodas were very flat (probably needs something changed on the machine). Based on food alone, I would probably eat here again. Prices are fairly reasonable. However, the atmosphere was uncomfortable. There was some arguing going on between a few employees (not sure if owners, wait staff, or who). It made the tension somewhat high in the restaurant and that will probably deter me from coming back. I know employers/employees have issues at times, but out in front of the customers is not the place to hash it out.

Conveniently attached to a Barber Shop and featuring a sign that reads "Better than your Grandma's, as good as your Mom's" it was around 10:30am that Darcy's Café was found mostly full, a collection of construction works having recently bellied up to the bar flirting with two waitresses who did their best to be pleasant while at the same time taking orders, clearing tables, settling tabs and serving Food.At one time a gas station but later converted into an eatery by Darcy Fonder, her retirement seeing the space suited for at-most forty sold to a former North Dakota Fighting Sioux, guests entering she shabby building will quickly notice just five tables and three booths surrounding the center island, a first come-first served policy often leading to long lines even when the weather turns frigid and in particular on weekends.Featuring a two-sided laminated menu plus several specials, a 6am opening Monday through Friday with slightly later Weekend hours making Darcyâs the top spot in Grand Forks for all-day Breakfast, it was passing over Soup and humongous Sandwiches that eyes focused squarely on Pancakes, the bottomless 99cent Coffee as good as the $2.49 stuff in Cafes elsewhere and always piping hot.No doubt a meeting place for locals, persons of all ages engaged in conversations of varying volume, it was less than ten minutes after placing an order that two items arrived simultaneously, three fluffy Flapjacks upgraded with gooey Frosting and lots of Cinnamon far better than their $6.58 pricetag would indicate while Bread Pudding baked in a Coffee Mug was unfortunately a touch dry at the bottom even though the top half was buttery, rich and full of plump Raisins.

This is a breakfast/lunch place only. They close at 2:00 in the afternoon. Stopped in on a Sunday morning about 10:00 and waited about 20 min to get in. There is no waiting inside, you wait outside. This is a very small place. Once you get a seat, the service is great and food wonderful. Great menu, the rolls are monster's. Hopefully we can make it back sometime.
