On a cool, fall afternoon, we decided to try this large diner tucked inside a Kwick Stop gas and convenience store at the intersection of routes 5 and 302. At the rear of the grab-and-go section, just past the ice cream counter, there is a large, well-maintained, clean, pleasant dining area with welcoming waitstaff, and a varied, extensive menu including an all-day breakfast menu. The combinations were all tempting, so we chose two different ones. Both 3 p.m. "breakfasts" were very good and fresh, from the home-fires and hash, to the thick slices of rye toast, eggs over easy and link sausages. Nothing had been sitting around and just minimally reheated. The fresh decaf was refilled twice, and the waitress very professional and friendly. I noticed that many people stopped in for pre-wrapped sandwiches, desserts, and drinks. One lady went past with fresh pizza slices, so even those in a hurry buy their food here.We will definitely eat here again though next time I will sit further away from the dessert display case for two reasons: the compressor was noisy, and the desserts looked very, very tempting and kept "calling my name"!
Typical truck stop diner, relativly clean restaurant and rest rooms. Food is ok, they have breakfast all day. Chicken was a little greasy, meatloaf not good. Veggies were from can. Better than fast food but not by much.
