Lots of breakfasts in the US are either over-priced or chain restaurants without sincerity or character and breakfast here felt like a down to earth family diner with reasonable prices and good quality food and service. Always a good sign that it is busy and full of locals. Happy to recommend this.

I gave this restaurant a great review a few years ago, but it just wasn't up to that standard this visit. My eggs Benedict and my husband's crab omelet were good, but the accompanying potatoes were not. My husband's hash browns were mushy and they and my country fries had an odd charred taste. Breakfast for 2 with coffee was around $20.

This diner recently changed hands/names for the THIRD time in only a few years. We were originally dismayed to see this, as we liked the two prior incarnations. However, our opinion quickly turned around when we finally visited the Broken Yolk, which opened in May 2019 - this just may be the best diner in the Rochester area!We love this diner so much that my spouse and I have been three times in just over three weeks. We are huge breakfast fans, so we've ordered mostly breakfasts, with one lunch in there. Here are some highlights:*The omelets are tremendous, with everything tasting incredibly fresh. There is a choice of side potato (home fries, shredded hash browns, hash brown patty), and these have been cooked to perfection.*The French toast (both regular and cinnamon raisin) has just the right taste and texture.*The pancakes are delish! And when we ordered a short stack to share between us, our server kindly brought us two plates and allowed us to do one with blueberries (yum!) and one without.*I had maybe the BEST oatmeal I have EVER had!!! I'm not even sure why it was so good, especially since it was unsweetened--but came with a side of banana, brown sugar, and milk. Seriously, I could order just oatmeal every day here!*The chicken salad sandwich was also excellent. Please patronize this place; we hope they will never close! We will definitely be back soon.

We were a large work group for breakfast before heading out for a day of community service. Portions were large, service was prompt and we were fueled for the day, but the meal did not stand out. We ordered all the standards: pancakes, eggs, coffee, home fries and more - it filled us up but as a local diner with a large following we were expecting a bit more. If you are in Fairport and need a quick meal it will do the trick and the price is right, plus it is a local business which is great to support. Would I go back for a group breakfast, sure, but would also want to try some of the townâs other breakfast spots that have a large following too.

This is a crowded diner, known for its gigantic pancakes (which most people don't finish, but take home to reheat later)! We waited about 20 minutes at lunchtime to get a table. Service was ultra-friendly and efficient. The food was pretty good, with mainly reasonable prices. We had challah French toast ($6.95), which was very good, but the real maple syrup cost an additional $3.50 (which we thought was excessive). The home fries ($2.95) were only fair. A broccoli and cheese omelet was good ($8.75). A side of coleslaw ($3.50) was very good. Coffee ($2.10) was decent.

Good food. Great service. Very busy today. 45 minute wait. French onion soup was bland. Please give this review and photos a helpful vote.
