Find out what Diner restaurants to try in Crans-Montana. Crans-Montana actually comprises two ski resorts, Crans-sur-Sierre and Montana-Vermala, although for all intents and purposes, they function as one. Popular with affluent Italians, the skiing is good (best for beginners and intermediates), but the shopping, eating and drinking are even better. The resort claims to be on the sunniest plateau in the Alps, and indeed the snow is often lacking, but the views over the RhÂne are superb. Every September, the resort hosts the European Masters golf tournament.

If this is the bistrot version of the Hostellerie du pas de l'ours, I can't imagine how good this gastronomic restaurant located next door in the same hotel can be. The bistrot has a very refined menu, beautifully presented and tasty. Varied menu that include fish, and choices of meats with some regional inspiration. The Pintade is just excellent. Our other choices were good as well : porc, seabass, foie gras, apple pie and a refined selection of ice creams and sorbets. All served in a cosy old wood decoration with warm lights. Totally recommend it.

Spent New Year there for a light dinner with my wife. Going there we were aware of the prices-high-but were also expecting some reasonnable portions. We were disappointed, the crab as more a salad with some pieces of crab, the bisque was the size of a cup! At midnight, only two or three tables were there. A glass of champagne to the guest would have been a nice gesture from the managmenent to customers who are spending probably around 150 Sfr each...minimum. Lack of commercial flair! On the brighter side: good service, great location.

Was that the reason of the problem? After only three years of activity, the restaurant has closed down on May 6, 2018.They are too many restaurants in Montana and the rent are exhorbitant. Also people have to understand that quality is always in a direct relation with costs.
