Funky, casual diner serving all-day breakfast & regional American fare, with weeknight live music.
Indeed, Blue Moon was closed for a while but now reopened to same breakfasts of 3 eggs classic with cheese and country fried potatoes. Serve is also classic Charlottesville- at their own pace. Don't expect the fluffy eggs, or the lightly browned potatoes. That's not why you came. The old style diner atmosphere indeed Egg burito for partner and coffee and we escaped for $30.

I was looking for a breakfast place in Charlottesville, VA and I picked the right one. What impressed me most was the farmhouse fresh taste of the food which is all made from scratch. Wait and management staff very friendly and welcoming. And they offer a military discount to boot! I will definitely be coming back on my next Câville visit.

Been here before for dinner & it was ok.Stopped in for breakfast & it was a mistake. French toast rubbery, scrambled eggs tough, server was ok wished she had spent more time with us as customers instead of us feeling like we were bothering her.

Nice place for casual dining on Main Street. Very reasonable pricing. (I think my breakfast cost $5.95?) Parking garage one block away. I was with a larger party, and everybody got different things and all seemed to enjoy their meals. Some had breakfast, some had lunch. The interior is not huge, but they do have outside seating as well that will more than double their capacity in good weather. Keep in mind though, that there may be long weights when they can't seat outside. Outside is great for people watching.

Getting hungry for breakfast as we were traveling I-64 east and nearing Charlottesville, Va my wife discovered on a list of places for a great breakfast Moose's By The Creek.Moose's By The Creek has easy access off of I-64. We found the quaint location and parked. Be careful parking and one will see why when arriving. A friendly welcome and get seated quickly added to our fantatsic treatment. Beth was our server and she did a very good job. My wife enjoyed "The Wrap It Up" She got her eggs fixed easy over and truly loved this selection! I chose the Wild Wild Western Omelette. It is a very flavorable and colorful selection. We both had home fries and these were top-notch. We were in no hurry, so the coffee kept flowing and we enjoyed looking at the Moose's Decor. While paying for our meals, we were approached by one of the servers and had our picture taken under Moose Anthers on The Wall. This too adds to the fun environment of Moose's By The Creek. All I can add is when Hungry for Breakfast or Lunch "Make Tracks to The Moose"!

Best burgers in Charlottesville!
Traveling thru Câville & looking for a spot for a late lunch. We are familiar with all the chains & the bigger restaurant fare that surround the area. Looked on this website & saw another poster had done the same. Arriving around 1:30, we figured it must be pretty good b/c the parking lot was packed. My husband got the Philly cheesesteak sub, & I got the grilled chicken sub. We also succumbed to the basket of fries..we finished every single one. Desserts looked delicious but we were both too full to partake. Highly recommend. You wonât be disappointed.

We were traveling home from our Virginia Beach vacation and looking for somewhere to have lunch. Found this place on TripAdvisor so we stopped & and I am so glad we did! My husband had a pork chop with greens, mashed potatoes and corn bread and I had a bowl of pinto beans with a piece of cornbread and a side of mac and cheese. This place is the real deal. The food here is true down home cooked food. We both had drinks and our bill was just a little over $18. When traveling to or through Charlottesville, I highly recommend you stop at Mel's for lunch or dinner, you won't regret it. See my attached pictures
