Find out what Diner restaurants to try in Billings. Lewis & Clark, Custer, Sitting Bull and Calamity Jane may be long gone, but they are not forgotten in Billings. Museums, galleries and landmarks honoring these legendary characters from the Old West dot the city, making it a history buff's dream destination. Surrounded by six breathtaking mountain ranges, Billings also offers plenty of opportunities for fresh air recreation, including hiking, biking, golf and viewing rare Montana wildlife. Spend time at the Western Heritage Center, an interactive museum full of clothing and remarkable artifacts from the Yellowstone River Valley. In the early 1900s, the railroad brought wealth to Billings and testaments of this prosperity are still standing. Be sure to visit the regal Moss Mansion, designed by architect H.J. Hardenbergh (who also designed the Waldorf-Astoria and Plaza Hotels in New York City). In the more modern realm, MetraPark offers horse racing, rodeos, concerts, fairs and other types of entertainment everyone will enjoy. And kids of all ages will enjoy the animals and games at ZooMontana.

Bernie's Diner, located in the Northern Hotel, is a traditional diner with a modern twist. Offering classic comfort foods, delicious milkshakes, and a soda fountain, Bernie's is the place to go for breakfast and lunch.
We spent the night at the Northern for our anniversary. Bought a package that included breakfast at Bernie's. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak..he couldn't even eat a third of it. The server noticed and offer to take the charge off, but since the breakfast was included in our stay, no point in the gesture. I was somewhat pleased with my meal until 30 minutes later.... let's just say I needed several hours in the restroom before I could enjoy the day. Certainly a great disappointment.

We showed up for breakfast. I got their breakfast special Taco Skillet and the other person got French toast. Overall quite good but I would most likely get something different if I get back to Billings and here at the Red Rooster Cafe. Every table was full and as soon as one emptied it was filled with new customers. Most seemed to be regulars and know all the waitresses by name. Hope you enjoy this home town eatery.Enjoy...

Visiting from the UK, we were on our last but one breakfast adventure, having tried bars and other establishments for Breakfast, we wanted something a little original, Hog Wild Cafe did not disappoint from the moment you walk through the door to smiling friendly faces, to the enormous breakfasts, two eggs easy over, hash browns, toast and a huge slice of gammon ham that cut like butter, twice the size of the previous days breakfast at another establishment, yet $3 cheaper...... you just might say it's like being in Hog Heaven !Oh and just as an after thought my Wife had scrambled eggs which she thoroughly enjoyed .
