We have been to this Italian restaurant several times, and each time we have had a good experience. Pizzas are large, thin, and delicious. The bruschetta is excellent and good to share. Portions are very large. Make sure you make reservations, as it can be very busy, particulary in the tourist seasons.

Newly renovated place, nice open athmosphere. Ok for a beer or a snack. Geared towards younger people. Not a stiff formal restaurant and not one of the old style Gastwirtschaften as you find them so often in the region. Having said this, the food is nothing special, and some items are clearly overprized. They do have the traditional stuff like Kässpatzen, Wiener Schnitzel etc., but I have eaten that stuff better in the "traditional" places. So if you buy into their concept (craft beer, laissez faire burger joint type of restaurant), than that is the place for you. It is a trendy commercial enterprise, but the proof is in the pie, the food is only as good as the cook, and they are only hired guns!Hello Sun TThanks at all for your critical note. Of course we serve some traditional stuff, but if you got the concept of our "handwerk", the main feature is the transparency and the high quality source products from well-kown producers - we call them friendly - unsere handwerker. It is very important for us, that our guest can trust on the quality of the international named organic product. For us its not only organic, for us the are deliverd from friends and craftsmen, and they really live for their products. So maybe if you consider this the traditional stuff isn´t that "normal" as you think.Hope you will be our guest again.

We discovered this restaurant by chance on return from a hiking trip. The staff is very friendly and service minded. and the typical local menu suited our needs very well. We chose normally the special of the day, and it was great each time, and nicely priced.

Our party of 9 (4 adults, 5 children) ate at the Almenhof on Christmas night 2014. The food was very reasonably priced and all 9 meals were excellent, catering for those who wanted more traditional fare (eg. the trio of dumplings), local produce (eg. the steaks), as well as fish fingers and chips for one of the children. The live music from the accordion and guitar, with a bit of yodelling thrown in, really added to the atmosphere and was loud enough for us to hear over our chat, but wasn't at all intrusive. Menus were in English, which helped us non-German speakers, although the waitress had a bit of trouble translating the dishes back to German. Overall, it really made our Christmas Day.
