When the majority of communities in Duval County consolidated with Jacksonville in 1968, Atlantic Beach, along with Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach, and Baldwin, remained quasi-independent. Like the other towns, it maintains its own municipal government, but its residents vote in the Jacksonville mayoral election and have representation on the Jacksonville city council. The population was 12,655 at the 2010 census.

We stopped here for breakfast on our way to Atlantic Beach. Good service, cute, clean, and a good menu that includes many vegetarian options. Our omelets were decent, the coffee was good, and we had a pleasant breakfast overall. Prices were reasonable.

This one is easy. The breakfast at our hotel was pathetic - powdered eggs - ugh! So we checked on Trip Advisor and fortunately found MetroDiner. Excellent service from our waiter Chris. The food was wonderful - especially the grits and the atmosphere is just what I like in a local restaurant like this. If you want a great breakfast - go here!

Stopped by to get breakfast for lunch. This restaurant is also called or was called Daniâs Diner. We were seated right away. They only had another couple there and the staff stated it was unusual for their restaurant not to be packed. The construction at the front of the restaurant could have been a deterrent. My family all ordered eggs, pancakes and hash browns. All good!!
