Tammouz restaurant and cafe is representing the Arabic Syrian culture by serving typical food from this area, although you can also see the culture in the interior design of Tammouz. The name of the restaurant is founded in the Syrian god for fertility, w
This is low profile restaurant in Weibdeh, near Abu Mahjoub.I went there for breakfast. Indoors and outdoors seating available, we sat outside. I would say biggest added value of the place is its cosy seating area and friendliness of staff.Medium sized menu with many things to choose from. We tried the Tabbouleh, good but a bit on the small size and can use more parsley and less bulgar wheat. The fresh spicy mango dish was unique and refreshing. The local sausages were tasty and the Manakeesh were excellent. We had the white cheese one and the spinach cheese one, both baked very nicely and generously topped/stuffed.The water jugs infused with lemon and mint are a nice touch, until you realize they charge you for them!Good overall breakfast experience! After spending 5 days in Jordan, we were getting tired of the typical Jordanian food. I did a search on Trip Advisor to see what was available close enough to the hotel and the Pit-House popped up. After eating there, I am glad we found it.Pit-House is a small restaurant with 5 or 6 high top tables. The kitchen is open and facing the dining area, so you can see every stage of preparing your meal. You can see them smoking the meat (I forgot to ask what wood they were using). I had the brisket sandwich and my wife had the flat iron steak. The steak was cooked just right and the smoking wasn't overwhelming in the taste. The brisket was smokier, of course, which went well with the barbecue sauce. The brisket was very tender and similar to what you would find in a good barbecue shack in Texas. The prices at Pit-House were reasonable, especially for Amman. I'd describe the small dining area as modern casual. The restaurant was spotless and all furniture was maintained quite well. The service was attentive and friendly. The owner was quite welcoming to all guests. We felt comfortable from the minute walked in the door. If you are looking for a change of cuisine in Amman, I'd definitely recommend Pit-House of Barbecue. They do one thing and they do it well!
