Modern relaxed setting, serving fresh locally caught seafood and meats. Surrounded by beautiful art and sculptures, you can relax with space to enjoy your meal. Booking always advised but pop in and relax while we sort you a table.
We came here because i had read the good reviews and was excited to try it. We got a reservation and were told they would only hold table for 5 minutes. We arrived punctually and were seated by a friendly hostess. The waiter was also friendly. We had the catch of the day which was wolffish. Food came out and looked nice - fish served in a pan with potatoes, sauce, and salad altogether - I don't think salad should be served in a hot pan, but I guess that's what they do here. The problem came when we started eating it and it was WAY OVERSALTED. You could not discern any other flavors besides salt. It was very unpleasant and totally ruined the meal for us. I couldn't even finish eating it. The waiter never checked back in to see if everything was ok. The best part of the meal was the bread which they serve in these silly little shopping carts (I guess they think it's whimsical, we thought it was dumb). And there weren't even any bread plates, so you had nowhere to lay your bread to butter it, etc. Unfortunately, this was our worst meal in 12 days in Iceland. Very disappointing :(Sorry the meal was not to your taste we actualy dont add any salt to the wolf fish, the sauce as explained is a citrus sauce and we garnish with cappers and olives to use natural salt, the citrus is often confused as salt. What suprises me is i personaly come to your table and asked if the meal was ok just like I do with every table this is why the waiter does not need to check back, i do it personaly. but you said everything was fine and also when paying said it was fine. . our shopping trolleys and the other random stuff we use is a toast to the namesake and builder of the restaurant Noi he made the many strtange sculptures you see around you in Akureyri and the restaurant, he found uses for some very strange items and we do the same

Itâs a good place if you want to get a burgerNice crispy fries, and sweet potato fries too!Buns are white bread, a bit too soft and doughy making the burger one messy burger! But hey- you can wash your hands after! Nice milkshakes and desserts too. Moderately priced for Iceland.
This is an ordinary little cafe in a shopping centre in Akureyri, where we had whale and chips. The minke whale steak was perfectly cooked, and was meltingly tender. In fact, it was better here than what we had in a high end restaurant.

My aunt used to live close to Fosshóll so I have been there every now and then the last 30 years or so. My last visit was however some years back and when I came there last week I got a minor shock. There used to be a friendly farmers marked, a small shop to supply the local farmers with their everyday stuff and a small cafe for the tourists wanting to see an experience the magnificent power of the waterfall Godafoss. But the general laws of super-marketing have really gotten their claws into the old shop. The farmers market is still there, charming as it is where the people of the surrounding vicinity sell their work (mostly wool and some woodwork). In the shop you only can still buy milk and butter but that´s it. The rest consists of sweets and chips. If the measurement âon-shelf availability in metersâ is applied then the ratio could be somewhere near 1:75. I should mention that I´m NOT reviewing the restaurant, I was only overwhelmed by the general view. The short time I was there there were 4 large busses parked outside and the 200+ passengers of all nations, mostly pensioners, were trying to get the best view of the waterfall but due to the situation of the shop, one has to cross the country road to get closer to Godafoss. And with the cars driving by, slaloming past the old people, and I couldn´t help but wonder as I drove away when a serious accident would occur. Outside of the shop here is a total lack of a organized parking-lot, with designated paths separated from the road. I left with a feeling that the owners were probably more fixed upon counting their profits than building up a service orientated center. My tip is: park on the parking-lot on the west side of the bridge, as far away from Fossholl as you can get and enjoy the extreme power of the mighty river Skjalfandafljot as it falls down Godafoss. By your stuff elsewhere, Laugar is e.g. close by with a much user-friendlier atmosphere.
