Reviews on Deli food in Quincy, Illinois, United States. Perched on the bluffs overlooking the mighty Mississippi, Quincy's landmark architecture, dogwood-lined streets and rolling green parks tell of a long and tiered history. Its location on the border of Missouri made it an ideal station point for the Underground Railroad, once in the aid of Mormons and later helping African Americans flee the slave states. Now the city's history is evident in its historic districts, architecture, museums, parks and landmarks.

This was a great place for a long time. Enormous fresh salad bar, fresh soups daily, and you could select hot items from the hot bar or Chinese. Prices were very fair, food very freah and good. They completely re-designed it, went to a restaurant type format. No salad bar, no access to Chinese or hot offereings, menu only. Food is blah, and prices are high. Huge mistake by Hy-Vee. Based on what I knew of the previous setup, and how busy it always was. The place always looks deserted. Too bad. Lots of people I talk to really miss the old place with the great salad bar and great prices.

My wife and I stopped for lunch today. Have been here before during summer and prep area was swarming with gnats. Today, workers never changed gloves and cross contaminated everywhere. Saw them make at least 10 sandwiches and not once did any of them change gloves. There was sauces from several different meats mixed in with the different cheeses; and then they handled the lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, and other such items and spread those juices and such throughout all of the sandwiches. If someone would be allergic to a certain item, they would surely be affected. This is twice this year we have had bad experience at this location. Probably won't be back to this location.
