Find out what Deli restaurants to try in Passau. Known as Dreiflüssestadt (City of Three Rivers), Passau is the place where the Danube meets the Inn and the Ilz. The picturesque city lies in Germany’s far southeast corner near the Austrian border. Settled since prehistory and a former hub of the salt trade, it became the Roman village of Batavis, then later the Holy Roman Empire’s largest diocese and a sword-making center. Saint Stephan’s Cathedral, home of the world’s second-largest cathedral organ, is one of Passau’s favorite attractions.
Things to do in Passau
This is one of the best restaurants in Passau that Iâve visited during my two weeks stay in Passau. The steak and tartare are super! The place is also super modern inside! Worth to visit it!

Farmstead isn't too far from my office, so I've been a couple of times now; I just got back from eating dinner there with my partner. The focus is on higher-end sandwiches and salads (â¬6.50-10 or so, with a side of fries, salad, or soup an extra â¬2). Service is fast-casual - you order at a counter, they cook your food and bring it to you, you put the trays with dishes in a cart when you're done. The positives: I haven't branched out much in terms of trying dishes but the dishes I've had have been tasty. I spent my teenage years in the American South, where my parents still live, and their pulled pork (Louie - which comes with young leeks, apple slaw, and barbecue sauce) and fried chicken (Jackson - fried chicken cutlet, broccoli slaw, and truffle-garlic mayo) sandwiches are fine in my book. My partner loves pulled pork and thinks the pork on the Louie is almost as good as the pulled pork we get when we visit my parents. The chicken on the Jackson could be a little crispier and the garlic mayo and mayo in the broccoli slaw is a little overkill - if I order it again, I'll try it without the garlic mayo. But the chicken is well-seasoned. The fries are also yummy - somewhere between a thin fry and a steak fry, crunchy on the outside but fluffy on the inside, with skin on the potatoes. Portion sizes are also decent. If my partner is hungry, he can easily eat two full entrées with all of the trimmings but at Farmstead, even if he's really hungry, he can't finish more than two sandwiches and an order of fries. Now it's time for the negatives. Staff seems to be nice but every time I've gone, the kitchen has forgotten to put something on the tray. Be prepared to keep your eyes open and ask for whatever it is that the kitchen forgot. The restaurant only serves Fritz-Kola products and I haven't (yet) found a Fritz beverage that I've enjoyed. Also, the restaurant's motto roughly translates to "from the country to your hand" but there is no indication as to where the products were sourced, whether they are organic or not, etc. If I specifically knew that I was eating food that was organic or local, I'd say that the prices are OK. Because I don't know where the food is coming from, I think the prices are a bit on the high end for fast-casual food in Passau.

Found this place on the street. Sat down and had a couple of the local beers....fantastic.Left....came back later with another couple and had brats and more beer.Had something called a "currywurst"? it was awesome...came with fries. We all had different brats/wursts and they were all very good. The outside seating made for some great people watching as well.Well worth the stop!
