Kristopherâs was recommended to us by a Matthews doctor we had just met. What an excellent choice. We enjoyed a stuffed baked potato with salad and a chicken, cheese and bacon quesadilla with salad. The food was excellent and served with a smile. Our server stopped by the table to ask if the food met our expectations and a couple more times to ensure we had everything we needed. Two very good lunches and the bill was a little more than $18. How can you beat that?

Locally owned full service restaurant, deli and bar with premium sandwiches and local draft beer. Also full liquor permits and great atmosphere. Featuring Thumanns deli provisions and mostly all else made in house. Awesome fresh buffalo wings, frankfurter
We visited the Charlotte area recently and was looking for a decently priced place close to our hotel one evening. Picadeli's had decent reviews, so we decided to give it a try. The service was excellent and we enjoyed our sandwiches. I highly recommend the corned beef sandwich. Also, the prices are reasonable for what you receivewould eat here again on a future trip to the area.

We visited McAlister's Deli last evening after walking out of several other restaurants that had low sanitation grades. This location of McAlister's (Matthews, NC) has a 97 grade which is very good these days.I normally get the Orange Cranberry Club sandwich, but this time I decided to try something a little different and opted for the Ham and Cheese Toastie. I wish I had stuck with my favorite. It was okay, but just wasn't as good as the Orange Cranberry Club. My husband got the McAlister's Club, which is his favorite. They have a good variety of sandwiches, soups, and baked potatoes. You should be able to find a sandwich or soup that you like there. This location is in the same shopping center as Costco in Matthews. We like McAlister's when we need a change from the regular steakhouse, Mexican, Chinese, etc. restaurants, or when we just want a sandwich. It's casual and clean, and the food's good, too!

Dorian's is a gem of a deli tucked away on old Hwy 51 between downtown Matthews & US 74( Independence Blvd). It offers a wide selection of sandwiches, salads, soups and daily specials . Everything is homemade including their delicious sides.Standouts include chicken & rice soup(They have been known to run out !),burgers & pita burgers, homemade chicken salad, greek salad(with or without amazing grilled chicken) & the Wednesday/Friday fish specials ! The fish is succulent and not at all greasy & is served as a mammouth sandwich or plate. The potato salad, pasta salad & german potato salad are yummy---just like Mom's ! Grownups & kids alike love "Paul's Chips", thin sliced fresh potatoes, perfectly fried & crisp but not brittle. "Paul" is chef/owner with his wife Mary. They have never met a stranger and regulars soon become family. They give testimony to the "family" concept with two cork boards covered in pictures of the children & grandchildren who have grown up going to Dorian's.The ambiance is simple , with soft walls ,Greek art & regulation tables & chairs, no booths. There is a buzz during peak lunch time but never so loud that you miss your own table conversation.Service is fast-paced to move business people in & out in a reasonable, yet not rushed, time. Servers are long time employees, friendly & efficient. They are well liked by patrons and eager to please.Parking can be an issue on a busy day. You have to park across the road as there is no adjacent area. Certainly a rainy day inconvenience, but worth it !They cater & with notice can prepare takeout party portions. We frequently order the potato salad for picnics, etc. and Paul will even use your bowl if you provide it & garnish it appropriately too !If you are looking for an inexpensive lunch that is delicious & reliable I heartily recommend Dorian's. Put it on your list of tried & true----you won't be sorry !!
