My wife and I had pasta dishes which were tasty with fresh ingredients. The bread and salad were delicious accompaniments. You can sit outside with a view of the mountains. Not the outdoorsy type, the interior decor will make you feel like you were in Firenze. Donât pass this opportunity up. Enjoy!

We visited Pickles and Swiss almost by accident because we'd been doing some shopping at Smart & Final nearby at lunch time. We walked into Pickles and Swiss to pick up a sandwich and learned that not only do they make great deli-style sandwiches, but their soups are homemade and excellent! I can't remember when I had such delicious soup! They do a brisk lunch business, so get here early and get your lip-smacking lunch at Pickles and Swiss. You will not be disappointed.Located in the new Smart and Final Shopping Center, across from Costco off of Hollister in Goleta.
Where to eat Cafe food in Goleta: The Best Restaurants and Bars
We had heard about this place from friends, who were really impressed with the quality of the food served here, so we decided to give it a try, though we weren't that hungry at the moment. It's located in a shopping area just off the 101 freeway, with ample parking. About half the interior is taken up by the meat market, and we took a look at some really high quality cuts of steaks and roasts. The deli counter has a good selection of meats to take home for sandwich making. We decided to split a pastrami sandwich on a French roll with cheddar cheese, with a side of coleslaw. When our sandwich was expeditiously delivered, we bit into it and got a taste of really great pastrami, some of the best I've ever tasted, reminiscent of the Carnegie Deli in New York! They're not chintzy about their portions, there must have been a quarter pound of pastrami on each half of the sandwich. With the cheese and tomato and a bit of mustard, it was a real taste treat! The coleslaw was tasty, too. The upshot is that we intend to return with some fully developed appetites in tow. Will pick up one of their steaks for the grill, too!
The staff was unpleasant, not helpful, not fluent in English, and irresponsible. They continuously messed up my family and I's orders, and charged us for things we did not buy. The fact that the staff did not speak English made it very, very difficult to communicate. I have never had this issue with other Subways so I was very disappointed.
