A quaint restaurant and coffee shop situated right on the main route through the beautiful town of Cradock. We pride ourselves on excellent coffee and homemade soul food. A bakery where fresh artisan bread is available as well as a delicatessen section. T
Conflicted as it is a nice little haven in Cradock - truly it is a lovely place for lunch. However, was quite annoyed my very dry lamb burger lacked the promised hummus, cucumber and brioche bun as per the menu (instead very dry onions, lamb and Italian ciabatta bread with 2 bis of rocket salad). The french fries were truly amazing and the wine and coffee/chai drinks wonderful, but the lamb burger was so dry and lacked basically all the things explained on the menu - it just really put me off. I would strongly recommend mangement perhaps explain seasonal changes to the menu and more sauce as ciabatta is very dry. Equally, the hot drinks and wine menu is fantastic. The place is beautiful, staff friendly and cakes looked nice. Just have never eaten anywhere the item I ordered from a menu with a description was such a different variation to what I got. Thank you for your review, we appreciate the feedback. Your review means a lot to us and we've been looking into what could have caused such a disjointed experience in True Living. After some thorough investigation, we have concluded that you might have received a wrong order - which might explain the confusion. Our Grand Karoo sandwich consists of ciabatta bread, roasted onions, seared venison and rocket... while the lamb burger has the saucy pulled lamb, hummus, cucumber and brioche bun. It seems as if you may have received the Grand Karoo sandwich instead of the lamb burger! We apologize for the confusion and for the fact that you did not find the sandwich appealing - even if it were a mixed-up order, it should have been delicious. We wish you would have approached one of our waiters or the manager on duty so we could have had the opportunity to rectify the situation on the day but hope to see you again in future so you can have a real True Living experience. Sincerely, the True Living Team. X
We needed something to quench our thirst and tried " Vino" although we were not looking for anything alcoholic so early in the day!The interior of the restaurant was lovely and cool and we ordered chocolate milkshakes and then a couple of pancakes. The shakes were tasty but the pancakes were sublime - featherlight and not at all rubbery. At R5 per pancake these were winners.I then got talking to the manager and found out that there had been a succession of restaurants on the property, which also housed Country Living.Vino gives customers the added bonus of stocking cuts of meat, chicken and a variety of freezer meals - convenient if you are in a self-catering establisment. Other locally sourced deli products are available too. Staying open til 10 over the weekend also offers folk more choice in eating venues for dinner. They have free wi-fi here - drew a blank at the other restaurants we visited.

The most friendly professional staff you will ever find at a Shell garage! I really like these people a lot! Their eats are fresh and daily made, and their coffee made with love.
Vino Restaurant is situated at the Cradock Golfclub on the Hofmeyer road just outside Cradock. We have the best view in town and offer delicious food and great atmosphere. The best way to end your day is to look out on an amazing Karoo sunset, enjoying a
We were a group of 16, and the menu variety enabled each to order their own preference of meal, from pasta to steaks to hamburgers. We were served our meals cook to perfection and brought to the table in a continuous motion. Although in Cradock, Eastern Cape, there was a large enough variety of wines to select from. There was sufficient open spaces between the tables that young children could move freely without disturbing other diners. What diners should remember, that although this is a family run diner they proved to us that they can make a very special family event even better.
