Homemade bagels baked fresh EVERY morning - lox flown in from NY - generous portions of great food in a good old fashioned NY deli setting. The meats are cooked in house and you can taste the quality!

We stopped at the Original Bagel & Bialy restaurant which is located at The Grove Shopping Center which is the northeast corner of McHenry Rd. & Lake Cook Rd. There is plenty of parking in the lot with very easy access. When we walked in, the Original Bagel & Bialy was really busy. Rather than wait, this time we picked up a half dozen of different bagels with some cream cheese and we were off. The bagels were quite good and very fresh. The price was reasonable. We've eaten at this well managed eatery at least a dozen times, and it's been consistently excellent. Steaks and fish are both carefully prepared, and although the service may not be Michelin perfect, it's friendly and consistently efficient. The trick here is to go early if you can or to prepare to stop at the bar for a libation before going to your table. Parking is a problem - the place is so popular, you'll have a tussle finding a spot to stow your car.

This Jimmy John's is located in a medium-sized shopping center on the southwest corner of Old Checker Rd. and McHenry Rd. There is lots of parking. The staff was friendly and efficient. Everything looked fresh. We split a 8 inch #3 (Totally Tuna) sandwich. The sandwich was good and reasonably priced.

This location offers indoor and outdoor seating at the east end of the store. Buy fresh juice, gelato, sushi or maki, pizza, sandwich, bakery treat, $7 or $10 complete meal, etc. -- and take it home or eat it there. There are 13 tables in the clean dining area with comfortable metal chairs that are designed with or without armrests.

They make tasty subs and sandwiches and I like their Hunter's Club Sandwich. The bread they use is one of the best there. Quick and fast service with friendly employees. The store is clean with enough parking outside.
