Very friendly people. Good choice of typical food- we had a nice fish. Quite place. You sit outside under a wooden roof.
We called in here on the way back to our hotel from a hot mornings walking. We didnât speak Spanish and the staf didnât speak English but they were lovely and we got there in the end. Reasonable prices for a touristy area, superb views. I ordered a burger, something I donât usually eat (I had already had rice for breakfast), and it was clearly home made and a very tasty meal. Wished we were in the area for longer as we would have returned. It isnât flashy just friendly with good freshly cooked food.

Essence Demo Cuisine is a meat free restaurant that gets everyone involved with the food. We show our international guest about local products and present them in a non-traditional way. Our chef Isaac Welivér ("Le Cordon Bleu" of Chicago) prepares 3 gourm
We traveled in a group of 6 and rented a home in El Castillo for 3 days. Essence was a 10 minute walk away. This is a vegetarian restaurant with the dinner menu different every night. They use vegetables from their own farm. We came for lunch and had delicious pasta, sandwiches, salads and crepes. The food was so good, we had to come back for dinner. That night, we were served Peruvian food. Everything here is perfect: you can see the chef cooking, the staff is so friendly (as is everyone else in El Castillo), the portions/price are perfect. I highly recommend making it in as you will not be dissapointed!

ChillOut Fusion & Lounge is a international and fusion food restaurant where guests can enjoy both the exquisite dishes and our ChillOut ambiance. Our modern food design is complimented with the tropical fruits and vegetables from the Costa Rican landscap
If you are going to Sky Adventures this is your only option for a meal. The room is bright and clean with good views down the mountain. The service is good. The food is decent but more expensive than you'd pay elsewhere for better. But that's what we expected.

We stayed at Rancho Margot in January this year. What an amazing, almost entirely self-sustaining place. Our meals were almost entirely home grown. Nature and an ecological balance is not a theme, but its "reality". If you want a complete, true getaway from everyday stresses and trappings... a few days at Rancho Margot... at least for me, was cleansing to my soul and re-centered my core.

Restaurante Amigos is located in El Castillo, Fortuna, close to the Arenal Volcano National Park. We offer Costa Rican tradicional food. Affordable prices, great service, and an awesome location awaits for you. See you soon!
On our way to our house up the hill from Amigos we often stop for Pollo Nachos to take with us! Delicious! We put them on a China plate and heat for a minute or so. Then sit on our patio, enjoy our view and chow down. Amigos has very good food and we often eat lunch and/ or dinner at the restaurant. It is nice to enjoy their garden that surrounds the patio and fun to watch the cars and buses ride by. In the dry season it can be a little dusty but in the wet season it can be a little noisy. Still good to go to and easy,Thank you very much for your comment we are here to serve youThanks for your visit âº

We ate twice at Phoenix during our week in El Castillo. Juan and Luisa became fast friends -- they are wonderfully welcoming and warm -- and happily accommodated our various allergens and special requests. The patio at sunset is breathtaking. Don't miss Phoenix if you're in the Arenal area!

This was a fun restaurant, providing a nice alternative to the food at Arenal Observatory Lodge where we staying, twenty minutes away. The food was delicious and portions were large. The casado meals were reasonably priced. This is not a touristy restaurant and not a touristy village. This adds to the fun. Only one of the three of us could have chicken for dinner, because they only had enough chicken left for one person! The server was very sweet and personable. She spoke Spanish (no English).

This reminded me of restaurants in the U.S. that serve California burritos. You order at the counter and pick up your food when ready. You are able to build your burrito from several different ingredients. We had dinner with friends and would like to return for lunch. Well worth a visit.

San Lucas dining experience is a 7 course gourmet dinner on top of the trees. There are only 5 tables, each one elevated on a deck platform above the trees with stunning views of Monteverde downtown. Dinner is served daily at 7pm and starting on November
Our trip to "San Lucas Treetop Dining Experience" was nothing short of unbelievable. We had stayed at "Chira Glamping Monteverde Hotel" no more than 100 feet away from the restaurant. Our waiter, Dilan, greeted us at our door with umbrellas for both me and my wife. He escorted us to a breathtaking view over Monteverde and we began.Dilan began giving us each dish accompanied with a crash course on the history, meaning, and even the location of each local ingredient found in Costa Rica within each dish. Simply put, it was an unbelievable experience. Words do not do justice as to how delicious the meal was, and pictures do not do the presentation justice. Me and my wife spent a week and traveled over 10 hours driving to various parts of Costa Rica, and if you were to ask me the one location you should dine at to fully experience the area, it is without a doubt "San Lucas Treetop Dining Experience", and second place is not close.
