Super restaurant. Classy, nice atmosphere that makes it different from the casual restaurants in town. But also the menu sticks out. Fine cuisine and dishes are nicely presented. The bouillabaisse was the best I had in a very long time. Personnel very attentive, good service. The only detail we did not like is the lack of an accompanying wine menu. They donât offer this in summer season, probably for a practical reason. But as a guest you donât have eye for the practical side, we just wanted to have an evening out with good food and great wines. A missed chance, but the food and service quite made up for it.

This place is just so cool. I love bookstores and in the middle of this store they have a cafe.I had a salad which was tasty and fresh. It's always very busy so it's not a romantic place to eat at.It's maybe a little unusual to have a good place in a bookstore but try it out when being in Middelburg.I go here every time I'm in Zeeland, it has become tradition. This bookstore has not only a cafe to offer but also tons of books, Magazins, board games, and much much more. It's location is on the Markt place.

I visited this restaurant last weekend with my boyfriend after seeing some recommendations on this website and I was happy to go in there! First of all some practical things, there is a big parking next door and you are close to the water because it's at the corner of the city. It seems to be a family run restaurant with a pleasent atmosphere, many regulars and very good food in huge portions for a very reasonable price. See the photos of the sliptong and spareribs. Ah also special remark regarding the coffee/tea, it's good and you get a very cute tray with all kinds of chocolates.

The inside dining is quite small, but very cozy, really nicely decorated. You might want to reserve for dinner... outside they have a lovely terrace but this was still too cold.... Service is very nice & efficient, food from soup, salad, burger was really high quality. Wine was of good quality and not expensive. We had a lovely evening!

Scandinavian styled small restaurant situated at the foot of the dunes. Friendly service. We ate outside on the terrace well protected from the wind. Inside small but stylish. Restaurant is attached to some holiday homes.

De Babbel is a real family business, Michael and Monique reopened this place since March 2012. Grand-father Bram bakes the best apple-pies to go with your coffee and some other members of the family help where they can. Our cosy 'eetcafé', a dutch name fo
Stopped for a drink at De Babbel twice during our long weekend at Zouteland. It is the last bar/restaurant along the main drag of the town. We chose it because the seating was a little more spacious than the other bars close by, where chairs and tables closely packed together. Being on the corner, it was quite windy. Service was prompt and prices similar to the other bars in the town. We did not eat here, but food looked very good. A nice place to sit and watch the world go by. It tended to get busy around 5pm when holiday makers came off the beach.
