Visited here on a Sunday afternoon using a groupon voucher for two course meal with glass of wine for two people. We chose a starter and main eachand the food was really good and very tasty. Very warm welcome. Enthusiastic waitress, eager to hear what we thought of the meal. I had the haunch of venison, which was cooked to perfection (pink!) and my husband who wanted his steak well done, was also delighted with the food. French onion soup was a bit disappointing, needs a few tweaks, but potted crab was delicious. This place isn't cheap (£90 for two, with two glasses of wine) but the food is consistently of a high standard. The pub is dog friendly, the table next to us had the delightful Eric sleeping under the table - do say hello if he is there when you visit :-)Hi LadyliddersWhat a lovely review. It was good to find somewhere where we could have a cup of tea at the end of the day, but sadly there was no Gluten Free cake on offer. Nevertheless, we were served with a smile and the tea was reasonably priced.Thank you for your review.
