I actually came across Capriole via Google as I wasn't totally sure about restaurant reviews on TripAdvisor. Menu is limited as compared to other places that I've been. And that allows Capriole to horne their skills in these dishes. We had the chicken burger, pulled pork sandwich, salad and mackerel sandwich. They were all very tasty. Coffee was pretty decent as well. But I'd say it's more tweaked to the Dutch way of enjoying coffee. I like mine thicker and more robust.We were staying with friends in Den Haag, and the one thing is that you will need your own transport to get to Capriole. I didn't manage to see any bus stops in the vicinity. Overall a very nice place to chill and catch up with friends.

The Chinese restaurant presents an imperial feel with choices of cuisine for tourists. The atmosphere of the restaurant, dishes and drinks seemed to bring tourists to the past. The meal consists of Cold Sesame Noodle Cordyceps Mushroom, Pumpkin Grapes and seaweed, Wo Crab, Belly Meat, Bell Pepper and Thousand Year Eggs, Wild Yellow mixed with Sea Give, and so on, fully presented on the table. Maybe they were just having an 'off' night, but the issues we faced seemed pretty worn into the fabric of things...Firstly the restaurant is quite pretty inside. Slightly weird outside (in the middle of a car park) but pleasant enough once you're in. Service was attentive if a little bit 'full on' by who I'm assuming was the manager/owner. He was warm and welcoming to us, but tossed our coats to the most junior looking member of the team in a manner which didn't feel comfortable. In terms of the food, on the whole it looked better than it tasted. I had the duck liver to start which was weirdly grisly and unpleasant to eat, served with an overly intrusive fig compote. I then had slow cooked oxtail (or brisket, I can't quite remember it was a little while ago) Which was tasty enough but flat in flavor and had quite a bit of un-rendered fat on it. My dinner partner had steak which was requested medium rare but came to the table with only a defibrillator standing between it having another go at life. It was also chewy and served with uninspiring accompaniments. As we didn't want to prolong the misery we skipped dessert and got the bill. It was poor value for money considering the lack of skill behind the food, but what made the evening hilariously bad was that the waiter (a waiter we hadn't dealt with the entire evening and had a misplaced sense of over confidence) decided to round up our 120-something bill to 150 without any direction from us. We pointed it out and we got the strongest impression he was hoping we wouldn't notice. He then nervously apologised and disappeared as quick as he could.So while this isn't the worst place I've ever been to, there is a huge disconnect to what the chefs think they're serving you vs what you end up eating. Average to poor skill set presented in an aspirational manner that just doesn't deliver.Thank you for your honest feedback. This modestly sized restaurant is located near the Binnenhof on a picturesque square. The menu includes starters (14 euro) and main courses (22 euro) plus the possibility of menus of the chef (3 courses = 37 euro). The cook knows how to juggle with flavors, smells and colors, resulting in delicious tasty dishes. The foie gras, the roast quail, the grilled wing of raye, the fried sweetbread .... all recommended dishes. And don't forget to enjoy the delicious bread and fantastic fries. Professional staff.
