The restaurant offers lovely view over Brisbane River and the staff was courteous enough.However, I was either exceptionally unlucky, or I must have very different standards to the hundreds of reviewers who enjoyed their visit to Blackbird. The first steak I ordered was so exceptionally salty that after a few attempts - during which I resorted to the already salty fries to bring the salt level down between bites - I had to return it. The second steak the kitchen prepared was fine in terms of not being overly salty (I think it wasn't salted at all but just carried residue salt from the cutting boards which was still plenty). Amazingly though, having ordered a medium rare ribeye, both steaks were well done. I'm not sure if the kitchen staff are to blame as both were very thin cuts, but either way, for a steakhouse not being able to season and cook a steak seems a pretty fundamental flaw.Hi Cornel, thank you for taking the time to let us know about your dining experience. I visited this cafe during a work visit and continued to go back because the coffee was really good, and the food was excellent. And also, because the staff were absolutely lovely. I tried their avocado and egg on toast (or as they call it , âThe House Depositâ hahaha) and it was delicious. Fresh, tasty and good sourdough. Thereâs lots of good options in Caloundra, but I was really happy with this cafe. Thank you. Travel safe :) Thanks for coming in & we're glad you enjoyed our cafe. Hope to see you again soon!

We went with friends, who were up from Sydney, & were all blown away by this wonderful restaurant, in a peaceful & tranquil setting, with gorgeous views.Food was delicious, especially our Cheese Souffle, & the service was absolutely outstanding, staff were friendly & extremely helpful.I feel anyone holidaying in the Noosa area, should make this a must do.Thanks Karen for your wonderful review. Six of us had lunch at this wonderful restaurant last week. We ordered the three course meal for $80 which in fact turned out to be very generous as beautiful amuse- bouches & homemade breads were interspersed throughout & handmade mandarin jellies & caramels were served after our dessert.The entree, main & dessert were impeccably cooked & presented. This would have to be the most exciting food in Brisbane at the moment .

Have been here a few times now - our favourite restaurant on the Sunshine Coast for special occasions. Absolutely stunning food and impeccable service. Every plate of food is well thought out. Inventive ideas without taking away from the classic flavours. Can not fault this place. Worth every penny for the special outings.
