Stevenage (/ˈstiːvənɪdʒ/ STEE-vən-ij) is a town and borough in Hertfordshire, England. Roughly 28 miles (44 km) north of central London as the crow flies, Stevenage is situated to the east of junctions 7 and 8 of the A1(M), and is between Letchworth Garden City to the north, and Welwyn Garden City to the south. On 1 August 1946, Stevenage was designated the United Kingdom's first New Town under the New Towns Act.

Love the down stairs restaurant, furniture and music to a beautiful dinner with my husband. Every dish was delicious and we loved the little complimentary dishes from the chef really nice touch. The night shift cocktail was soo good I skipped dessert to have another! Can't wait to return and bring the family Hi Jadie,Thank for joining us in our restaurant for dinner!We are thrilled to hear you had such a great experience with us. Our friends, who consider the Tilbury to be their preferred GastroPub, invited us for dinner here.Their recommendation was to choose mains from the Main section, not the Standard section.A first round of drinks ordered and brought to the table, we were presented with lovely amuse-bouches, very tasty.Starters as well as main courses were beautifully presented and equally well cooked - creative presentation, I must say.A very good wine list with the House wines, at least the more expensive ones, being really good.A excellent Macon to go with the fish and a smooth Morgon to go with the lamb dish.Very attentive and friendly service especially by the young restaurant manger.A wonderful evening out!If I lived around here, this would become my preferred pub restaurant, too!Dear WolfgangHeinrich,Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review, it was a real pleasure to receive. We were looking forward to dining here after reading many positive reviews, and indeed the food was very good although at a higher price point and great for that special occasion.However, bread and oils were placed on the table which were not shown on either of the menus, although we were charged for them when the bill arrived. As these were not requested we asked for them to be removed from the bill, a little more transparency would have been appreciated.Hi Andrew, Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. Please accept our apologise for being charged for the bread and oils. This was a complete oversight on our end and you should not have been charged for these. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your evening however, and we look forward to welcoming you back again in the future. Kind regards
