Perfectly pleasant restaurant perched on a slope with a fab view over the bay, the service, restrained menu and general vibe aims to be more upmarket than the standard Setubal pile it high and bring more wine model but there's nothing exceptional about the food - decent if oversalted pork fillet, nice plate of black spaghetti with king prawns. Best as a lunch spot to make the most of the view although a sunset supper could be worth trying.

We found Treze several months ago and we keep going back!!! This modern styled Cafe with inside and patio seating has fabulous freshly created food matched with a small but excellent local wine offering and other beverages and fresh fruit juices. The main courses changes every day - yesterday we had a tasty carrot soup and then a superb oven roasted chicken thigh served with vegetables, salad and a lovely home made mayonnaise. The soup was well crafted with many subtle undertones of other vegetables and a hint of mint. We have had the other small dishes, all great - the cheese and presuntos plate, omelete, tuna sandwich and more - Joao will try and create a dish special for your taste. The desserts are also very good - apple tart, fresh crepes, pastries and the Artisanal icecream that they have is heaven. This is our favourite place in Setubal to spend time, eat, drink and connect with Joao, Tanya, and the locals

Conveniently located on the shore right as you get off the ferry, the do Rio offers a wide variety of seafood dishes that are expertly prepared and absolutely delicious. One of the best seafood places we visited on our tour of Spain and Portugal.

We were hot and tired when we discovered this nicely decorated restaurant bar tucked near the Monastery of Jesus. We immediately felt like walking in and having a drink. Then, the helpful young red haired manager showed us the lunch menu, with two options. We chose to eat there and food service atmosphere were above expectations. We had a tasty fish soup with garlic bread as entree, then we tried the fig pizza and the bacalhau. We were offered two extra plates for sharing. The all menu including dessert and drinks for 8 euros/pers. Then we asked for directions to Sesimbra and he helped us too. I really recommend places that are run by the owners, in this case a young Portuguese couple, rather than a large place with employees paid by the hour, and owners in their office counting dividends.
