Almazen de Sabores is a warm restaurant where attended by its owners served with love creative dishes gourmet cuisine with a capacity for 20 people is an ideal place to have a nice quiet dinner
My wife and I had the 6-course surprise tasting menu. The dishes we had were not always the same; that way we were able to sample more varieties. The ingredients were fresh and the food was delicious. The portions were decent, and we were definitely full by the end of the meal. Wine pairings was not part of the menu, but they have a decent wine list. The service was attentive and friendly.I don't think it is fair to compare Almazen de Sabores to places such as Butterfly. The dishes at Almazen de Sabores were more of the comfort food variety rather than gourmet. Besides, the price was 1/3 of that of Butterfly. I think they are both very good restaurants and they offer different dining experience. We made the reservation by email and received confirmation with 24 hours. Almazen de Sabores does not take credit card.

We ate hear twice during our stay. Normally we don't do that but the fact is that the food is good and when you don't want to walk to town this a good option. If you stay in the hotel you get 15% discount om your restaurant bill.

Great bread, a little on the salty side. The salad was interesting with carmelized crunchy walnuts, cucumber, brussel sprouts on a bed of smashed pears. Cornflakes Next shrimps rolled in cornflakes served with sugar beet and raspberry sauce and white chocolate. The wine a sauvignon blanc, Tomero. Next was a was a malbec rose for the pink salmon with very crunchy skin on. Super yummy!. Next a pino noire with the potato mushroom soup spiked with cacao beans and vanilla. Of the wall on the yummilicious scale. The wine superchargers the flavor attack. The knives arrived, beef next. Just guessing, some heavy red cabernet sauvignon. Malbec, I was outsmarted. The beef is bife de chorizo, sirloin strip. 4 of 7, sous vide bife at 140 seared and sealed on an open flame. Chewy as sirloin is but was super delicious. 5 of 7 on the way. The semisweet pre dessert. Violet flower mousse, with pistachios on a bed of blueberries and tangerine juice. It just keeps getting better. I am guessing port and something really sweet. They got me again. A sweet malbec, like port, and a cookie topped with chocolate mousse and dusted with semisweet dark chocolate. Oh yeah, a little gold foil square. 5 stars again. The owner/chef just checked in with us. Nice guy and his wife helps bus tables.

We have travelled all over Argentina - from Buenos Aires , Mendoza , Iguazú , and bariloche and this restaurant for an overall experience has the best food and most welcoming service we have experienced As a foreign traveler , the two people running and working in this establishment made us feel so welcome, this place only has 7-8 tables , and the front of the house is managed by the wife and her husband runs the kitchen all by himself The menu for such a small establishment is extremely complex and varied / all variations of food are covered and offered / the music is outstanding and the ambience is extremely charming / the wife / owner is extremely charming and kind and her husband comes out of the kitchen to greet the guests. We believe he used to work in famous kitchens and started this establishment on their own The prices are reasonable and the wine list is personally chosen by the wife /owner We sincerely hope this restaurant is patronized and if successful to support the hard work and talent of the proprietors Our only regret was that we do not live closer so we could patronize it more

Quiven Patagonia House Kitchen is a contemporary proposal that enhance the products and flavors of the Patagonia region. The Chef Pablo Quiven put his mark seeking the peculiar combination of flavors, textures and beauty in the design of each dish.
Our experience was one of a kind. The food was presented in 7 very unique ways (courses). I've dined in Singapore, London, NYC, San Fransisco, Lima, Buenos Aires, Santiago, Rome, Barcelona, Casablanca, Bangkok etc... and this isn't just "good for Bariloche", the presentation is "good" for ANYWHERE in the world! If you are a 'foodie' you would be hard-pressed to find a more interesting place to dine. It's intimate with just over half a dozen tables!
