This small café is excellent for a family meal (with play structures for children in the courtyard) or a romantic dinner. The portions are generous, the food is delicious, and the choice is extensive. This is a new go-to favorite when in Recife!

Classic French cuisine with contemporary touches. In the lounge, the best selection of jazz and MPB (Brazilian popular music).
We had one night in Recife - just to make plane connections - and had the good fortune to walk into Mingus. What a delightful, professional experience. Fine service, food and piano music. When we arrived, there was only one other table occupied and we were concerned. But it was just timing. By the time we left, the restaurant was almost full. There was a staff member who spoke English and could accommodate our requests. The restaurant is around the corner from the Best Western hotel. While a highly professinal, white tablecloth restaurant, the diners were of all ages and from casual to elegantly dressed.

Located at the Institute Ricardo Brennand in Varzea, the Castelus Restaurant maintains the same standard of architecture of the buildings that composes the famous museum. With 80 seats, it features a contemporary way the Brazilian regional cuisine, especially the Northeast. The desserts are the strong point of the menu, the Cheesecake Negobom, the Brownie Northeast and the Thousand Roll Cake Sheets (thin roll cake slices interspersed with kingdom cream cheese) are irresistible options. The restaurant is very comfortable, has a tasteful décor and great service. The service schedule is from 12 to 17 hours, from Tuesday to Sunday.

This restaurant is situated right on the orla. You can look out and enjoy the lovely ocean breeze. Service was helpful and attentive. We chose two seafood appetizers that were excellently prepared and had great attention to detail. The octopus was finely sliced and served simply and elegantly. The shrimp panelada? had great slow cooked flavors. Apps were served with crispy baguette slices. Just wonderful. We will return again without a doubt.

Have been there many times with friends. Nice environment and service with a modern/queer tone. Reasonable price. Good food. The menu offers from basics to creative alternatives - it is usually worth to try the more adventurous ones and the waiters usually have good suggestions. My favourite recent discovery is the coconut mousse with guava. Also, the restaurant is located in a nice shopping gallery with some independent labels.

Expect small overpriced portuons. Food was good but not exceptional enough to justify investment. Ambiance was really nice, very intimate feeling.

We had our supper during the "happy hour" time. Ordered fried shrimps and risotto for 2, plus 4 drafted beers, which complimented our meal. We took a picture of our dish and compared to the same posted on their menu. That's why we didn't give 5*. We paid R$120.00 with a tip included. We were very happy when we received reviews like this! Come back to Camarada forever! :)
