We had the early evening set menu, which is astonishing value at £13 for 3 courses, and even more astonishing when the cooking is this good - modern British, professional, precise, unshowy. The wine list is good and fairly-priced. Service is welcoming, charming and attentive. The setting is an interesting well-preserved 16th century house. With drinks before, wine during, and coffee after, we paid (with service) around £33 a head. Definitely one to go back to.

The Waterfront Pub and Eating House

The Waterfront, a contemporary pub and restaurant in a fantastic setting right on the waters edge with stunning views across Plymouth Sound - probably the best views of any drinking/dining venue in Plymouth. Newly re-opened (March 2015) a stunning refurbi

Birthday meal for my husband the booking was efficient. The restaurant is large but lacked atmosphere. The food was well presented but no specials available because it was a Monday night the food was acceptable but nothing special and over priced.Dear PlymouthSarjo - we are sorry that you didn't enjoy visiting the lovely Waterfront - we guess a big clue to the wow factor is the name of our venue which probably well and truly understates the wow factor generated by our amazing location on the waters edge - a world class view by anyone's standards. We are sorry you felt our pub, we are not a restaurant, lacked atmosphere but as it was a Monday night it would have been quieter than at a weekend, We are sorry that our lovely menu didn't hit the mark for you but thank you for trying us.With regardsThe Waterfront team

I dislike restaurants that make you do the work. Order and pay, remember your table number, collect your cutlery and condiments on the way while carrying your drinks... and I dislike it even more when the food is not good. The Ship is too expensive for the limited level of service. The fish was over cooked and greasy. It’s trading on its Harbourside location and the sign on the glass partition stating best fish and chips in Britain is misleading. It was just part of the competition. For good fish and chips with table service at a great price go to Harbourside a street back.
