First built in 1854 as a private country retreat and housing an unmissable 200 year old cedar tree in its grounds. From 3rd November 2019 we are closing our restaurant to non-resident diners. Please do check back in the future as we hope to be back with A
We chose here for our anniversary dinner and we were impressed from start to finish! Lovely venue, service was impeccable, the courses were timed perfectly, the decoration on our table was a nice touch. As my wife is Coeliac it was good to see such a varied Gluten free menu, the food was tasty and the flavour combinations were amazing. Would happily visit again when we're in the area. Thank you for picking Cedar Manor for your special anniversary dinner. We are pleased to be around 90% gluten free throughout this menu and intend to keep it that way as we develop new menus.Look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit to the Lakes.Best wishesCaroline and Jonathan

With a fascinating history as a centre of the spice trade, Cumbrian cuisine has a rich heritage, and local specialities have long included exotic spices with favourites such as Cumberland sausage, potted shrimps, Grasmere gingerbread, and of course, stick
The whole experience is magnificent. Carefully crafted, beautifully presented, well executed dishes: seasoned, spiced and garnished with precision The 3 dining rooms are very calm and well staffed. As expected the wine list is very diverse and the cellar is in-view from the dining rooms.

Beautiful setting with lovely gardens. Food is a Far Eastern fusion with amazing flavours. All plates are sharing even soups which come in smaller bowls. Good house wine by the carafe. The ambiance is great with lots of space and attentive staff.

What a great bar with lovely people. Stayed in Bowness for 2 nights with my daughters and their partners and went here both nights. Great live entertainment from a talented guy on the piano and attentive, friendly service. I promised to go back and I will.

An 18th Century Inn full of character, mixing contemporary furnishings with traditional decor, and real log fires.Great outside seating area overlooking the main Square in the village, fantastic for watching the world go by.
I have been here many times during Cartmel bank holiday race weekend. Food hasnât always been great as it is so busy. I was pleasantly surprised on this occasion as the food was excellent. Iâm told they have a new chef and although I didnât see him cook I saw him throw out two middle aged drugged up race goers who were rowing about who had taken the lions share of the coke. Very professional and should be complemented by the management both for his cooking and the way he dealt with the incident.

We are one of the smallest independent coffee shops and cafes in Bowness and operate as a two-man team, as such we do not offer fast food, just delicious food served as fast as we can! All of our dishes are prepared on site to order and we pride ourselves
Simple menu, but was fantastic. Between myself and two of our kids we had three of the flatbreads. Chilli flatbread and falafel flatbread were both incredible and the feta olive was also really good. My wife is Celiac so needs gluten free and she also quite enjoyed.Really glad you enjoyed the food and hope you found the sign!

A traditional village inn offering award-winning real ales, a good selection of wines and keg beers. The reputation of the food is well known and caters for most tastes.
We ate here with friends during a really busy week for the pub. They happily fitted us in even though we booked late. The service was impeccable. Polite and attentive but not too fussy. The food was outstanding. We only live locally and will definitely be back again. Can highly recommend a visit!

A magical Cumbrian hideaway, Simon Rogan's iconic riverside restaurant with rooms holds two Michelin stars and five AA Rosettes. Experience passion and creativity that showcases the finest ingredients and harnesses the powerful connection between food and
We dined here in October 2019. Everything about this restaurant is absolutely spot-on - the relaxed, warm welcome and similarly relaxed atmosphere are in contrast to the technical quality of the food and the well-balanced service, which was attentive without being in your face. The accompanying wine flight was expensive for what it was, but I'm not going to begrudge that because it's all part of the experience of dining in a remarkable restaurant such as this. Definitely coming again.
