We had eaten here 3 years prior and weren't impressed but thought time may improved food & service. Wrong! Waitress wasn't at all pleasant or friendly and gave the impression she was rushed off her feet. Well it's not our fault you haven't organised more staff. This establishment tries to give the impression of being fine dining not just another cafe on The Esplanade. They failed when toast came out unbuttered with the packaged butter on the plate waiting for me to do it myself. At least take the butter out of the packaging. Toast was extremely dry. Poached egg was barely runny. Bacon was extremely oily. Relish was good but tasted exactly like a brand I buy from the supermarket. Husband ordered salmon scrambled eggs thinking the salmon would be cooked in with the eggs, not as a side on the plate. Scrambled eggs had at least 15 whole capers in it and yet was bland. The hash browns were perfect. Needless to say with all the choices of eateries around we won't be back.

Cellar Door on First is a warm and inviting restaurant which offers a relaxed and casual ambiance. Open for lunch and dinner, Cellar Door on First's menu is best described as contemporary cuisine with an extensive wine list to match.
This restaurant has a fine reputation so the expectation was for a high quality experience. Unfortunately the acoustics were so poor that it was incredibly noisy. It may be time for restaurants to lose their industrial look and reintroduce carpets etc to make the dining experience more subdued. While the food was interesting (a large group booking with a set menu) the quantity of the entree was disappointingly small. Some of the lamb main course was dry. The desert had a lot of interesting and well matched flavors. There was a need to balance clever cooking ideas with customer satisfaction.

We celebrated a family birthday, the food was delicious, particularly the shoulder of lamb which was shared by the table of 5. The service was friendly and although our drink orders were very slow to arrive the manager offered free desserts to compensate. The only downside was the noise level as itâs a very high open space.

La Finca - âThe Farmâ- quality food cooked by professional Chefs, using local and seasonal ingredients.
The coffee is just brilliantly well made, and the breakfasts have to be tasted to be believed. Whether it was an omelette or bacon and eggs, the amount was generous, the flavours were brilliant, presentation good, and service really family style friendly. Imagination was at work with some of the flavour combinations. It was just great. The bread supplied with the meal was generous and tasty.
