Situated in the middle of a vineyard and on the tourist drive Red Poles is the ideal location to spend a casual lunch, a lazy afternoon or a short holiday. Red Poles café/restaurant/gallery/B&B â perfect wedding/function venue in McLaren Vale - âthe fine
Went to Red poles for daughters birthday. Had 4 kids with us under 7 , they were very well catered for and even had their own table next to us. Meals a bit hit and miss, 3 of us had the gnocchi which was very bland and oily. Another had pork belly also very bland . My husband had the Kangaroo which he said was the best heâs ever had and wanted to pass on his compliments to the chef .All in all a nice place but meals a little dissapointing , service was excellent though so that sort of made up for it .
Best Australian food near McLaren Vale, South Australia, Australia
You choose the cheese, crackers, olives, salami etc you want and they make up a platter. The home made foccacia with local olive oil is superb! Food was delicious and great value. Wine a bit overpriced considering it was their own cellar door but still very nice. We shared a platter and a glass of wine, then my wife spent an enjoyable hour here by the fire while I explored the Cube (which is amazing! Dont miss it)
Top 6 European food in McLaren Vale, South Australia, Australia
Responsible for all things food and beverage at Chapel Hill Winery. Restaurant, weddings, functions, accommodation.
The family visited here for lunch after Xmas and were not disappointed. The Chapel Hill wines are excellent, in particular the Vermentino and the Shiraz and priced reasonably. I had the crispy duck which was a little dry for me but the flavours were delightful. The standout dish of the table would have to be the Candied Pork, and also the slow cooked lamb. Serves were very generous and serivce was impeccable. Would love to return if in the area again!
