Reviews on Contemporary food in Lagos, Algarve, Portugal. There is rich and beautiful history within Lagos’ 14th century walls, from its fortress to picturesque churches like Medieval São João Hermitage and the 17th-century São Sebastião. But that’s all appetizer. People come here for a main-course coastal buffet featuring more than a half-dozen beautiful beaches. Quiet sandy coves are sandwiched between dramatic cliffs. The sandy 2.5-mile stretch of Meia Praia caters to every water sport imaginable. And when you’ve had your fill, you can digest your day with some of the best nightlife in the Algarve region.

We dined last night. Lovely restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was very tasty and beautifully presented and the restaurant ambience was very relaxing I had shrimps with tempura green beans drizzled with homemade aioli. They were enormous and so tasty. My husband had scallops with risotto which he really enjoyed. Mains were lamb shank with creamy mash and caramelised red onion and sea bass fillets with sautéed new potatoes, green beans, carrots courgettes and some sort of foam. No idea what kind of foam but it looked pretty and tasted lovely :-) Then we split a dessert between us of homemade coconut oannecota and pineapple ice cream. The ice cream was incredible. All accompanied by the House red which was the best weâve ever tasted. We would highly recommend and you need to book.Thank you for a beautiful dinner! Sam & Gary

We searched this place out based on TA reviews and it did not disappoint. The food was excellent, really tasty and great quality. Most of us had the tuna steak and all gave it 10/10 and the chocolate mousse was so good! The service from the front of house team was fantastic they are passionate, really chatty and create a fun atmosphere in the restaurant. As previous reviews have said there was a 15 min queue to get in and probably a 30 min wait at the bar with drinks for a table but it was definitely worth the wait. Be patient you wonât be disappointed! This was our first visit to Casa do Prego but definitely wonât be the last. Thanks for a great evening!

Stumbled across this little place down a lovely side street in Lagos. Given that it was a Monday night in early October, most restaurants were either closed or very empty however Barbosa was packed. We were greeted by a very friendly waitress who allowed us to sit at the bar and order a drink while we waited for a table. The menu was impressive with many different types of dishes to choose from - tapas/mains/salads etc The quality of food was outstanding - very tender meat and superb tapas. The atmosphere was great and the surroundings were cosy. Thanks for a great meal! Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us this fantastic review. We're very pleased to hear you had a great time. Come back soon!
