Sleepers was established almost a decade ago and was one of the first of its kind on Newland Avenue. Tucked along side the railway bridge which gives the café bar its name âSleepersâ could just as easily refer to its laid back atmosphere for socializing a
Went for an impromptu lunch. Burger nicely presented with the extras added. Bit into it and nearly broke my teeth- it hadnât been cooked that day and was probably microwaved back to life. The more I tried to eat the harder it got. Shame because the rest of the meal was nice. My partner is a chef so gave it a hesitant thumbs up. The salad was a bit dry on their dish but otherwise ok. Chef must have changed as two years ago it was fab. Newland Avenue has changed ! Not for the better- lots of beggars to negotiate. Plenty of them huddled around the cash machine and beer outlets -intimidatingHi, Thank you for letting us know about your last meal with us. Our burgers are always cooked fresh on the day and never reheated, this goes against what we believe in as a company. We always encourage customers to let a staff member know of any issues so we can amend them straight away. Sorry to hear about your thoughts on Newland Avenue, hopefully as a community we can change this. Hopefully see you again soon

We arrived after 8 after a long drive in the rain. Greeted by a lovely friendly team member "Odette". Service was perfect, seated and drinks arrived and the food ordered. Food arrived in a timely manner considering the restaurant was busy. Food was delicious. We had 4 different dishes and they were all delicious. Puddings were lovely. Bottomless soft drinks.Service was excellent, Odette was very friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. We will be back.

Nestled at the end of the Burstwick Country Golf Club, hence its 19th name, this new restaurant aims to dispel any stuffy notions of elitist golf club dining â and is forging a new reputation as a modern, vibrant dining experience for all. This family-run
Booked here for Sunday lunch having read reviews online. We werenât disappointed. The welcome from all the staff was great and they really looked after us. The restaurant is housed in a single story clubhouse at the Burstwick Country Golf Club. Having passed the golf shop and cosy bar area, we were shown to a table overlooking the golf course and given the menu. Great value at £8.50, £12 and £15 for one, two or three courses. Having ordered drinks, we chose our food. I had soup (tomato and basil) which came with a roll; my husband selected Yorkshire puddings with gravy - the gravy here is delicious and worthy of a mention. For main, I had the roast beef dinner, which came with new and roast potatoes, roast parsnips, carrots, green beans and broccoli plus a Yorkshire pudding and the gorgeous gravy. The meat was tender and beautifully cooked. My husband had chosen the steak pie with chips and the same veg. He reported that the pie had both top and bottom, was very tasty and enjoyed everything on his plate. He followed with treacle sponge and custard which although not homemade, was lovely. I finished with a coffee and mints. £30 for our meals and drinks - a bargain and recommended. Wow, thank you so much for this glowing review! We cannot tell you how much we appreciate it :) We're delighted that you enjoyed the food and service, and hope to see you again very soon!
