Second visit with large group. One sausage roll each, best part of the afternoon tea assortment. Sandwiches were okay, fillings not very exciting. The worst part though were the scones and cakes, assuming they were made in house the scones were heavy and dry. The eclairs were not finished and left on the platter. The Bakewell tarts were like my children would make with overworked pastry. The best bits were the macaroons and the small round of Victoria sponge. There was no option of tea, and we had to wait for staff to reappear to ask for refills. Tea strainers were on the table, which was just for show as tea bags were used. Unfortunately I will not go back again It was not worth the £15 price tag, I left hungry.

We had a lovely afternoon tea here recently. Lovely fresh sandwiches, and a piece of cake. It was hard to choose the cake, so many were on offer. One of us had apple cake, which I can heartily recommend, I chose banana and caramel, which was too sweet for me, but delicious if you have a very sweet tooth. The staff here were very nice, I asked about busy times, and was told Saturdays were usually busy, but Sundays were slightly quieter. So next time we were in the area we decided to have afternoon tea again. On arrival the tea rooms were closed, this is a Sunday in August! On looking at the notice on the door they are closed quite a bit inthe Summer. I can very much recommend this tea room, we will definitely visit again, but please check if they are open before you travel. I am attaching photo of holiday times 2019 which may help.
