We made reservations for this restaurant before we even arrived in Maui. Reading the reviews really made us want to try Mill House. The surroundings are beautiful and the restaurant is very nice inside with a large patio. We were seated inside along the back wall. Half of the seating was a banquette and very uncomfortable. I started out there but couldn't imagine sitting there for more than a short period, so swapped to a chair. That was also uncomfortable and cramped with the person sitting next to you. We ordered cocktails the Hi Life was one. I really didn't care for it, but I usually drink wine. For starters we had the Pate, Roasted Vegetables and Bone Marrow. The Pate was tasty, but the vegetables were awful. Extremely small portion and just a blob of swiss chard and broccolini. It was not seasoned well and looked extremely unappetizing on the plate. Our companion was disappointed with the portion size of the marrow. We had fish and ribeye for our entrees. The fish was overdone and not a lot of flavor. The ribeye was tasty. When we first sat down and the waiter discovered it was our wedding anniversary he offered us a complimentary dessert, which unfortunately never was served so can't comment on dessert. At that time we had been siting for an extremely long time and I was most uncomfortable so I left the table to sit in a more comfortable chain in the reception area. While the food wasn't really bad, it was just mediocre to us. I doubt we will ever try this restaurant again. We sincerely apologize the server neglected to follow through with your complimentary dessert, as we strive to make all celebrations extra special. Coupled with the inconsistencies in your meal and uncomfortable seating arrangements, we apologize for having fallen short of your expectations. Thank you for your detailed review, as it allows us to correct our mistakes and make improvements!
