Carlisle's most dog friendly cafe. We don't just allow dogs in we celebrate them. Fantastic home made food and cakes for humans, and a doggy menu for our four legged friends.
A nice little cafe at the edge of the centre, very dog and people friendly. The breakfast are huge and the coffee is nice. The owner is so friendly and helpful, and his help with the homeless is just generous and kind. Very well recommended.

Had heard mixed reviews so decided to try for ourselves, we were all very hungry and looking forward to a meal. When we arrived it wssnt very busy. We sat at a table and waited...and waited. Nobody acknowledged us so we asked for a menu at the bar. There wasnt a huge choice on the menu but we chose and waited...and waited. Decided to order at the bar to be told somebody would come to the table, but again waited and waited. The waitresses kept walking past but never looked our way, so we left. So never got to try the food so cant rate it but service is dismal.

Hell Below Bar & Kitchen Cocktails // Gin // Veggie // Vegan // Milkshakes // Funky Vibes & Happiness xo
Only small but does have seating upstairs as well. The premises are very clean, well run by polite staff. The food is gorgeous can certainly recommend the chicken burger with the chefs secret recipe coating and the nicest salt & pepper chips mixed with fried onions & radish with chilli too. Drinks are good value.

Visited with friends. The service was very good and the lady was very friendly. Not to impressed that chef had a âno 2â in the male toilets, my husband and friends were not happy. Food was nice, but you do cook it yourself. I didnât mind this but everything is separate, even the peas which is a bit of a farce. I love steak and it was a good cut of meat but part of the skill is being able to cook it and they donât do this, you do

We spent a delightful evening and night here on our way to Scotland. Our room was clean and comfortable with all mod cons and a few lovely extras like fresh biscuits. Mattresses were sublime and bedding was top quality. We had a good evening meal although the service was a little slow and an excellent breakfast. The staff were delightful and breakfast was top quality . The hotel has some dog friendly rooms which is why we chose it and we were all most comfortable.

Locally Sourced food with A new york state of mind
Sunny Saturday morning, still new to Carlisle and after reading the reviews of the Script we thought we would go in for brunch...... BIG mistake! We were shown to our table, menus delivered, 3 staff serving..... but then they all vanished and it took at least 10 mins for some to come back and take our order.... ok poor start but things happen. Breakfast ordered and coffee arrives.......... 15 mins no food, 20 mins no food, 25 mins no food, 30 mins no food.....but the you guys who arrived 10 mins ago have ordered and now being served our food. What made it worse was the shabby, lack of professional customer service. No one came over to apologise, or explain what had happened..... there all standing around the till. As I march to the service area/till... to complain and say after 30 mins and no food we are off Iâll pay for the coffee..... one guy says sorry please donât pay for the coffee.Still no explanation, still no apology....... still no attempt to keep the customer satisfied...... shabby!! Totally appreciate mistakes happen.... but canât understand or accept the poor customer focus.Well we tried it...... but can honestly say..... we wonât ever try it again!! We were very much looking forward to our lunch as we had heard so many good comments about this restaurant. The restaurant itself is outstanding and we were pleased with the Accessible Parking and lift. On arrival the Maitre dâ was superb - he welcomed us and made us feel very comfortable. We ordered a starter and main course. Again my king prawns were absolutely delicious and my husband enjoyed his soup then things began to go slightly down hill when our main course arrived. My husband ordered fish and chips. The fish portion was very small and the fish was overcooked and dry. His plate was filled with chips - again these were dry. I chose the salmon in a sauce vierge. The salmon was good but the sauce tasted as though it had come straight from the fridge and was very very cold. I too had a plate of new potatoes which were dry. However there seemed to be too much oil on my plate. The meal wasnât bad but it wasnât as good as I expected and certainly wasnât good enough for the price we paid. When asked by the maitre dâ if we had enjoyed the meal I explained our disappointment. The reason Iâm writing this on social media is because he said that the chef pays more attention to and spends more time on main meals - especially those on a Friday and Saturday. However he did offer us a free dessert.Just not good enough Iâm afraid!!!Thank you so much for your valuable feedback from your visit yesterday, It will certainly help us improve in the future. I am sorry that we fell short of your expectations yesterday and can only apologise for the mistakes that were made on our part. With regards to the portion size of the Haddock & Chips, we have had a lot of comments in the past about the portion size being too large which resulted in excessive wastage. We did review this and are currently trialing a smaller fillet size to address this issue. Obviously if we have gone too far the other way, we need to find a happy medium. Your comments have been discussed with the chefs who will pass on to the suppliers.I also spoke to Yann who served you yesterday, he was upset to hear that his comments came across wrongly. He reassured me that he was keen that you would come back and try our evening dinner menu and give us another chance because the dinner menu is so well-received.We would love to welcome you back and discuss your visit further and have a chance to put things right. Many thanksRachel Ferguson
