I saw this amazing lady, Renee Boughman on U.N.C. TV. Our public broadcasting station here in NC. Talking about her F.A.R.M. cafe. Her concept of everyone can eat regardless of financial status & pay it forward is just lovely. You can volunteer at the cafe to eat if you don't have money. She is an amazing spirit & does business with local farms. I was determined to meet her while I was on vacation in the mountains around Boone, NC & check out the food as well. Let me tell you, she did not disappoint! The food was so fresh & so delicious, I wish I could eat there often, but we live 4 hours away at Ft. BRAGG, NC. If you are ever in Boone, NC. Please check out the F.A.R.M. Cafe! You won't regret it. The people that work there are very warm & inviting also.

My wife, adult son and I had lunch at this spot during a brief visit to Blowing Rock.An unpretentious building on the main street, we were greeted and welcomed in a most friendly manner. I chose the day's special, my wife BLT salad and our son the pulled pork sandwich. All was presently presented and delicious. The bill was surprisingly lean. A great lunch spot!

No question, this place is the new King of the Hill in the NC High Country for food. Exquisite, creative, like your first Indian - there's nothing to compare. Attentive and knowledgeable staff about the food and wine. Be prepared to pay and wait; 30 mins before my first drink appeared - similarly long gaps for the grub, so make sure your cc's loaded and you're not in a rush, so you can enjoy yourself without inhibition. Also, if you're deaf (or want to be), choose outside.
