Reviews on Contemporary food in Delft, South Holland Province, The Netherlands. Vermeer’s birthplace and a true gem, Delft sits between The Hague and Rotterdam in the country’s southwest. The city’s name comes from the Dutch word for digging, fitting since canals are a highlight here. Others include the 13th-century Old Church, the 15th-century New Church and the Prinsenhof, once home to William of Orange and now a museum. Delft has long been a center for fine ceramics, and traditional hand painting methods can still be witnessed at Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles.

This historical venue is a brick, vaulted ceiling treasure. Previously a town square weighing centre (1300s). We sat at a table on the raised floor. The service was good and the food lovely. The portions were generous. The dish of the day and dessert were good value, although not as expected! The pork steak looked more like a ham hock, but it was tasty.

I was in Delft for several days on business. A friend recommended this restaurant. I came for lunch one day and dinner on another. Both meals were delicious. If you don't speak Dutch, ask for the English menu. For lunch I had the creamy mushroom soup, which hit the spot on that chilly January afternoon. I also enjoyed the mint tea, which is served in many Dutch restaurants. It's fresh mint leaves in hot water served in a clear glass with honey on the side. I also sampled one of the local beers. For dinner I had a small chicken stew with a side salad. It was early in the evening and the restaurant was empty.Thank you for the nice review. See you next time in Delft

As if the combination of history and industry in Delft wasn't enough! New York Bistro & Lounge Sevenhills adds a piece of New York! Enjoy a good diner or lunch with beautiful pieces of dry-aged meat or choose one of the delicious fish or vegetarian dishes
We ended up here by chance and it was a nice surprise. The atmosphere is nice and has a little bit of the american-steakhouse feeling. We were 4 and all had the burger, something that do not make us a good reviewer of the menu but a good reviewer of the burger. It was really good but a little bit on the salty side. It was nicely cooked and the portion was more than enough combined with the fries. The service was kind of slow but nothing strange for the Dutch standards. We got also a combination of desserts and most of them were good. Particularly the proseco ice cream was a real beauty. The prices were ok but not cheap. If they reduce the salt and prices by just a little bit this place can be even better.

Nice little corner restaurant. I had the 3 couse fixed menu while the hubby ordered just the beef entree. Starter was excellent, but main courses were small for the price. 2 adults, couple of small beers and house wine was about 60 Euro ($70 US). Gals serving were very nice, but seemed to be short staffed with a restaurant only 60% full.
