Reviews on Contemporary food in Dallas, Texas, United States. You may have all heard that everything is bigger in Texas. Well, Dallas does its best to fulfill that promise. You'll find several museums with vast art collections and fascinating specialty museums like The Sixth Floor Museum/Texas School Book Depository, which, though small in size, offers an immense amount of information about the assassination of John F. Kennedy. And of course, visit a local steakhouse for a terrific (and enormous) meal.

We believe the best steaks come from the best cut and quality. That's why we get all of our beef fresh from renowned beef purveyors, Allen Brothers. Each cut is corn and grain fed USDA Prime steak that our chef handpicks. Each steak is aged for a minimum
We had had an extremely busy day, and went to Dakotaâs for dinner and to unwind. We had the crab cakes for an appetizer, the wedge salad, bone-in ribeye and filet and scalloped potatoes. Every item was seasoned well, the steaks were tender and tasty, and our server took great care of us. This is what we look for in a steakhouse. Highly recommend.

This restaurant is located on the top floor of the Hilton Anatole in downtown Dallas. The views are exceptional. We were seated right by a window overlooking Stemmons freeway and all of the skyscrapers of downtown Dallas. Due to the extended daylight in June, we were unable to enjoy the lights, but nevertheless it is an impressive view. In a nutshell, the service was probably 3 1/2 to 4 stars taking into account the overall presentation of the restaurant. If I had one complaint, it was the fact that the first 20 minutes of our experience seemed to be rushed. They brought out our appetizer and salads at the same time, so I had to request our server to please slow the pace down since we were anxious to enjoy the experience and were not in a hurry. There was not a lot of interaction with the service staff. There was very little in the way of personalization. The food was very good. There was a nice breadboard to start things off. The shrimp cocktail appetizer was presented with two different cocktail sauces: one red bloody Mary and one white horseradish. We split the baby iceberg lettuce wedge and it was very tasty. My wife had the 6oz. fillet and although it was slightly underdone, it was well seasoned and very tender. I had the pork chop which was perhaps the best pork chop I have ever had. Cooked a perfect medium with a very tasty demi-glace. We also enjoyed some excellent Mac and cheese as a side dish. Decided to go ahead and have dessert. My wife ordered the pineapple tropical bread pudding which she pronounced as very good. I had a glass of port. I did notice that the price that was charged on the check was two dollars more than what was listed on the menu. I pointed it out to the hostess on my way out of the restaurant. The prices are on the high side. Typically, that does not bother me as long as it is reflected in all levels of the experience. I would probably rank the food 4 1/2 to 5 stars and the service 3 1/2 stars.
