Persimmon is a beloved bistro located off the beaten path from Bethesda's bustling downtown. Chef and Owner, Damian Salvatore, grew up in Bethesda and worked in local restaurants his entire life, all-the-while crafting his passion for creating genuinely g
Always baffled by those that throw out 5 star ratings. Ambiance and interior decor is void/stripped of any discerning taste. All wood tables and chairs-no linens. Hard surfaces flooring results in acoustical challenges. A prior reviewer stated, âreminiscent of a French Bistroâ. Clearly they hadnât been to France. Service was appalling with the constant need to ask for assistance whether it be to deliver the menus, take our order, educating the server (any Chef should know this!) that with Moule Mariniere a fresh warm side of French bread (baguette) should be served in lieu of the side of wheat toast, delivery of my third scallop which seemingly went missing/unaccounted. Only two scallops were delivered w/my salad instead of the three advertised. The gazpacho was nothing more than a watered down tomato soup with no expertise, flavor or creativity. Another family left prior to their table being serviced due to equal service frustrations. All in all, a dreadful lunch which will not be repeated.

After an average meal (and probably or last) at Range next door, we visited Civil for a night cap and a cigar. As usual, the staff was well informed about their scotch/whiskey offerings and the atmosphere was excellent. Civil has an excellent ventilation system to handle the cigar smoke. My only slight complaint (primarily for my wife since she doesn't smoke) is that the ventilation system was not as effective this night as it usually is. All in all another excellent experience.

Dog Haus creates hand-crafted hormone- and antibiotic-free hot dogs, sausages, burgers, plant-based items and one Bad Mutha Clucka, all served on King's Hawaiian rolls. Crush one, then wash it down with one of our local craft beers, signature cocktails or
Paid another visit to the Dog Haus Biergarten as I was in the area for work and wanted dinner.Parking was a bit of a nightmare as the street parking was busy around dinner time and had to find a garage about 3 blocks away. The restaurant was quite for a Tuesday evening and I had grabbed a seat at the bar. I ordered a local beverage and an Old Town hot dog (smoked bacon wrapped dog, caramelized onions, chipotle aioli, pickled jalapeños, cotija cheese) with a side of tots. The food came out quickly and the hot dog was as amazing as the last time I had had it. The sweetness of the Hawaiian rolls offset some if the spiciness of the dogs toppings. The tots were perfectly fried and crispy as well. I left full and satisfied.Would risk the bad parking to visit again. Thanks for sharing the love and taking the time to write this awesome review, Bergholz! We are so glad you enjoyed Dog Haus! We have many items for you to try when you return.Looking forward to serving you again soon.Best,Andy W.
