Jill & George Mure opened Tasmania's first licensed seafood restaurant, Mures Fish House, in 1973 in Hobart. When they struggled to source quality, fresh, local seafood, George went fishing. More than 40 years on, now owned by Will & Jude Mure, Mures rema
The lower deck was crowded, so we decided to do the upper deck which was full service vs cafeteria style. All of the dishes we ordered at our table were delicious. The blue eyed truvella appears to be the localâs favorite. Having sampled the other fish entrees, I would have to agree. Nevertheless, everything we ate was fresh, and the service was prompt and friendly.Dear floridatraveler33, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback from your recent visit to Upper Deck, we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed both our dishes and our service. The Blue Eye Trevalla is line-caught on our own fishing vessel, Diana, and is definitely a local hero among fish species. We are glad that you found this to be the case as well. It's a wonderfully versatile fish that is suited for nearly all styles of cooking!Kind regards,Mures Upper Deck

After over 25 years welcoming guests from all over the world we are proud of our passion and respect for the food and service we provide to our customers. We are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days (except Christmas day). In 2003, the original Cus
A good choice for a drink, a meal or a bed in a great location for Salamanca Market, Battery Point meanderings. Galleries galore, cafes, and bars. We visited after an exhibition for a meal. We chose the scallop special as it is the season now. I chose the curried version which was a little overpowering for such a delicate fish and I love my own better. However my husband had crumbed and was very happy. Both were presented beautifully and great value with accompanying soup, and a glass of wine.

Right on the beach at Cornelian Bay, the Boat House occupies one of the most beautiful settings in Hobart, 5 km north of the CBD. Fabulous water views with the Tasman bridge as a backdrop, the Boat House is the perfect location for family outings to the a
First time dining here in the evening, only ever done lunch at this establishment. We went to this beautiful warm, welcoming place for a meal with my partner tonight and it did not disappoint.Overlooking the beautiful stars and full moon against the Tasman bridge and the citylights of the Eastern shore and not a breath of wind...so peaceful and calm.Great wine list, beautiful entrée - Charcuterie board, then mains of pink ling and cox rubbed filet steak was perfectly delicious. Thanks to the lovely young waitress who was fabulous and made our evening perfect. Can't wait to go back.

Myself and two girlfriends had Sunday lunch here and partook in the $70 Chefâs Menu, where you get a wonderful taste of eight courses. These were shared amongst the three of us and the dishes were robust in flavour, complexity and also, size. We left feeling contently full. The wine menu was extensive with an aperitif offered on arrival. We were seated at the large communal table with two other parties but at no time were we cramped or did it feel too loud. Between the two chefs and the one front of house we were spoilt with a wonderful and timely degustation over two hours. I would highly recommend Templo. Please be mindful though, the restaurant only sits 20 patrons and is incredibly popular, so if you are planning a trip to Hobart and would like to have lunch or dinner here, you should definitely consider booking in advance so as to no miss out. Also, there are single menu items, you do not have to do the Chefâs Menu! A wonderful culinary experience.

Been twice in the past month. Food is delicious especially the pork, broccoli/kale and pumpkin dishes. Service was excellent, friendly, attentive and professional. Only suggestion would be to offer more variety of wines by the glass. Mostly local offerings and would have liked broader choice. Otherwise loved it and will be back. Note prices are up there!

The Astor Grill is a unique restaurant for contemporary dining. Our two beautiful dining rooms are located in the fabulous 1920âs Art Deco building Astor House at 157 Macquarie Street, Hobart Tasmania. Our emphasis - casual elegant dining with a friendly
The Astor is an old favourite but it has been many years since we have dined here. Good for lunch or dinner. Fabulous selection on the menu and the wine list confirms the Astor still lives up to its reputation as being a fabulous dining experience. Waiters were friendly but professional and didn't hesitate to refer to the chef. The steaks are to die for, as was the veal. The sauces absolutely sumptuous. Cant wait to go back

This place surprises. It's a lot bigger inside than you'd think and the standard is exceptional (no surprise there really if you've been to Frogmore Creek at Cambridge)! Staff were very well informed and service was courteous and efficient. So many dishes to choose from - they all intrigued me!Well, I had to start somewhere so it was the Pirates Bay Octopus Carpaccio with five spice gel, avocado puree, bottarga, basil and potato croutons. This was accompanied by Spanner Crab and nori with soy braised daikon, sesame wakame, kewpie, kalini and salt cured egg. Delicious! We chose a side dish of Broccolini with burnt butter and smoked almond crumble. Nice texture and beautifully presented. Then it was time for the Three Rivers eye fillet crudo with egg yolk gel, Argentinian chimmi churri, cauliflower crisps, crispy capers and garlic snow. Yum.We then shared the honey brown mushroom tortellini with nasturtium salsa verde. wild mushroom broth, crispy enoki and kale. The flavours were sensational! We finished by sharing a decadent dessert. The Frogmore Cigar. I think the photo speaks for itself. The wine was reasonably expensive but the meals are all great value for what you get. Superb flavours, ideas, presentation and service. We'll be there again soon!Great views and ambience and I'd recommend for a romantic date evening!
