There wasn't anything fancy about this restaurant, but we were very satisfied with the good food and service. We ate here at the end of a long day of walking around Xining and enjoyed eating somewhere comfortable and close to our hotel. We had a few different kinds of dumplings and some vegetable dishes and liked all of them. The staff were friendly and very good with kids. There wasn't anyone smoking inside at the time, which was nice. I wouldn't make a trip across town just to come here, but if you're in the neighbourhood an need some food, it's a good choice.

If you want to taste special food from the Xin Jiang Province (which is Northwest of China), you should go to this awesome restaurant. They serve a big dish with potatoes and a whole chicken cooked in yummy spices, called Da Pan Ji. If you want a smaller plate for just 2 people, you order the Xiao Pan Ji. Don't forget to order the noodles that come with this dish. They serve the noodles after you almost emptied the plate.
Great traditional Chinese food and a vast menu! Staff spoke no English so get comfortable with pointing to pictures if you don't speak Chinese

There was a long line outside the restaurant at 1pm in the afternoon, and there was another line where the main mutton dish - boiled roast meat - was very expertly cut out (quite interesting to watch the action) by hijab clad ladies, before we were ushered in to our table. The other dishes were served at the table. But the food, Western Chinese halal meat and more, was one we would savour for a long time to come. Our Chinese speaking Muslim guide and friend was a great asset to have around us.
