This tiny place has amazing authentic Sichuan food! Outside of NYC Chinatown, I had never tasted anything like it--very vivid flavors; very fresh ingredients! BYO. Lots of unfamiliar dishes. Very nice staff.

A small - about 10 tables - restaurant hidden on the one-block Quimby Street in downtown Westfield, Asian Fusion provides a great selection of very tasty Asian dishes. The restaurant has an incredible variety, which might be a red flag for a mediocre "jack of all trades and master of none" type of restaurant. It is not.We began with hot and sour soup. It was very flavorful and welcoming for a cold night. The soup was not gloppy, which we find in a lot of Chinese restaurants and was filled with much meat and vegetables. We then had shrimp shumai appetizer. That was delicious. Our main dishes were Spicy Korean Shrimp and Szechuan Fire Cracker Beef. Both were outstanding. The restaurant gives customers a choice a jasmine or brown rice, at no extra charge. Some restaurants charge extra for brown rice, even though the regular rice is free. I find that annoying, so I am happy that this place provides a choice for free. We chose brown rice and even that was very tasty by itself. Plus, they gave us free refills of the rice - something we do not see often. The restaurant is a BYOB, which makes the cost low. The total price of our meal, with tax and tip, was $45. That is a reasonable price for a very good meal for two, especially when I have had poorly tasting meals for more money.A few negative points: 1) because the dining area is a small room, it can get noisy when others are loud; 2) the entrance is used as a sushi-making counter (no seats) and for people to wait for seating or to pick up take-out orders, so sitting near there could be distracting; and 3) also sitting near the entrance could be colder in winter months.Even with those negatives, I recommend this to anyone visiting Westfield, NJ.
Where to eat Italian food in Westfield: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Lets put it this way, I hope this is not a bed omen but the worst Long Island place was better than this. The house special fried rice was flavorless and gummy. The Dragon/Phoenix was a heavy mass of tough soggy crusted chicken with a thick muddy looking pasty sauce more like a stew than a sprightly spicy sweet version, To make things worse they ruined correctly cooked fresh shrimp by using the same sauce as the chicken, hence no real definition of flavors. Wish me better luck in the future.

This is the Chinese Restaurant we always get our take-away food from. Been having it on every visit to New Jersey for many years. The very best dishes, in my view, are the shrimp fried rice and chicken General Tso. But it's all great and reasonably priced.
