Wow, Gilberts used to be THE go to Chinese restaurant for us. We would order from there frequently because their food was delicious and they were fast. Now that Gilbert has retired and they have new owners the food is not as good as it used to be. We were told that they were using all the same recipes that Gilbert did. But on our first order the egg rolls were different, and the sweet and sour chicken was also completely different. We were disappointed because we were expecting the same level of deliciousness that we had become accustomed to. If you are close to this restaurant, and want average chinese good go for it. We won't drive there from another town like we always did because we can get average chinese food closer to our house. Very sad to see

We moved to the area a couple of years ago and have been looking for this kind of "fast food" Chinese take out place since. We have now found it. They have a huge menu, super fast service, online ordering through their website and the cost is low because they don't have a big dining room (they do have a few seats) and a bunch of restaurant overhead. The inside is not much to look at, but the food is terrific. They have lunch specials starting at $5.95 and dinner specials starting at $10.75. They have an all day menu and a lunch menu for the value conscious. I recommend giving them a try when you have a Chinese food craving in the Dundee area.

We came to New China Restaurant for dinner. It is a stand-alone building in a shopping center located on the northwest corner of Kennedy Drive (Rt. 25) and Lake Marian Rd. There is plenty of parking and there is very easy access in to and out of the parking lot. We were seated immediately. The service was very good, efficient and the staff was easy to deal with. We ordered a wonton soup & an egg drop soup to start and an order of egg rolls. We then ordered a combination fried rice which turned out to be more than ample for two people. The prices are reasonable.

This Panda Express is located along the east edge of the SpringHill Mall along Rt. 31. There is plenty of parking available. We ordered a couple of sides. The potstickers were for my granddaughter. We ordered the crab Rangoon and the egg rolls. It was the perfect light afternoon snack. The staff was efficient and the prices are reasonable.

We found light Chinese was always good for a light lunch when shopping, so we were surprised that Manchu Wok had closed at SpringHill Mall. The phone number has been disconnected. Manchu Wok is no longer on the directory for the restaurants in SpringHill Mall. This location has been removed from the corporate website, as well, and the nearest locations are now at O'Hare Airport. Don't be disheartened, though, as there is a Chinese buffet located in the mall.
