Ordered 6 starters. Ribs, Satay chicken, prawn toast x2, seaweed and chicken soup. Satay chicken was very very spicy almost unbearable. When ordering the ribs we thought there would be at least 4. 2 ribs turned up which was ridiculous considering there was 6 of us. They were not very nice at all. They charged £5 for two ribs! Very disappointed and we didnât ordered more and left.

I love tofu, and the oriental chef in Glastonbury has several options all suitable for vegans, including one with ginger and one in black bean sauce, and they can adapt other vegetarian dishes to make them vegan as well. There are several Chinese takeaways in Glastonbury and nearby Street, but this is the only one I use regularly...the cost and the quality are both excellent, and unlike many others they don't use MSG in their cooking which is handy for many people to know. Portion sizes are good, and there is plenty of tofu in the meal, and it is of the chewy, slightly sweet variety that I really like but can never quite master at home. My only criticism is that the spring rolls are actually too big, so are best ordered to be shared rather than each.

We couldnât decide between Oriental Chef (across the road) and Peking Palace, since they seemed to get much the same ratings on Trip Advisor. Peking Palace won out, since it opened earlier, and we had a menu. There were three of us, so we decided to opt for the set vegetarian menu and augment it with extra spring rolls, crispy seaweed, an extra helping of rice, and some crackers. This proved to be more than enough, and we had almost sufficient for a second full meal.Other reviewers report an unduly lengthy wait, so we decided to order and collect the meal on the premises rather than to have it delivered. The proprietor said the order would take ten minutes: in fact, it was ready in just over five.We were extremely pleased with the food â all absolutely delicious. I would certainly recommend the sweet and sour tofu. Iâm not normally a fan of noodles, but I think Peking Palace has converted me!I donât know whether the competitor across the road is as good, but I think Peking Palace would be difficult to better.By the way, it may be useful to know that they do not accept cards â only cash.
