Our food tasted of cleaning products when we said to take it away they then claimed their food âtastes different to other placesâ. They refused to take any money off the bill even though the food was hardly touched! Very disappointed and wouldnât recommend to anyone!
I am very hard to please. My best friend being from China and owning a restaurant made me very spoilt. However I have ordered twice. My misses who isn't very experimental liked your chow mein and loved it and I will order again. Also nice shredded beef.

We were camping down in St ives and fancied a chinese takeaway one evening. Went here on a recommendation from a local and were not disappointed. A good selection of food that was well priced, hot and tasty. The portion sizes were also good, we picked ours up but they do deliver locally for a small fee. We enquired and this would have included delivery our campsite if we wanted it.

Had a lovely take away. Arrived in quick time (30mins instead of the always predicted 45!) the salt and pepper squid is a top choice. Some times when you order chicken/pork balls they are very doughey but not from here they were crispy and delicious! As usual a fantastic service!

Been here forthe third time ,when visiting family in the area. The staff are very welcoming although it was pretty busy,, The food was as good as previous times weve been, Love the way they do the all you can eat service, have never come accross this before especially up north.

Over the last year, we have started going back to The Welcome again, after a not so good experience years ago, for family birthday celebrations. The all you can eat freshly prepared buffet menu has probably the widest selection of the Chinese restaurants in St Ives and is worth paying a bit more for. They offer the all you can eat menu on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. The restaurant is closed on Mondays. It is an extremely popular restaurant so booking is highly recommended. The food is excellent - I particularly love all the starters. The spring rolls are outstanding. In fact, I could just keep ordering the starters!!! You can then have soup (big selection), duck with pancakes and then the main courses which are smaller portions than normal but by that time anyway you are full! You can order more of each course if you wish.Staff are pleasant and attentive and do a good job in such a busy restaurant, but sometimes it can feel like you are being a bit neglected if they know a number of regulars eating in there that evening. We went for my daughters birthday and I gave them a cake to bring out at the end of the meal. There were quite a few birthday celebrations in there that evening and I had to remind them about the cake at the end of the meal. They were apologetic but it felt like they were more interested in their friends birthday. The only disappointment we have experienced in there with the food was on our last visit, the starters were extremely salty and even the extra starters ordered after the first lot were equally as salty. Hopefully this is just a one off and it wonât put us off returning unless it happens again.Well worth a visit.
