An 'all you can eat' restaurant with good asian food. The restaurant itself is modern and a bit noisy because the tables are rather close to eachother. And ordering by iPad requires some practice. But it is self-explanatory and the staff is very willing to explain everything. The food comes fast, not always everything at once for everybody but it works. Quality is good, especially of the sushi. They also have take away. An asset to Sneek and South West Friesland!

This is the place to be if you are into real chinese cuisine (not 'westernized') with authentic flavours and combinations. Interesting not every-day chinese dishes at very good quality/price ratio. Restaurant is situated on the waterfront of the city of Sneek, Houkesloot, where in summer season you see all types of boats coming from or going to the Sneeker Meer. Wonderful place for chinese dinner.

We visited the beautifulTown of Sneek with its huge and enticing choice of restaurants. This Chinese restaurant had a great choice of food and was relatively busy, so we thought we would try it. I checked that the chicken soup was traditional chicken style soup - ie thickened with egg - the waiter was uninformed and therefore confirmed this with the chef. When the 'chicken soup' came it was just packet bouillon watery soup - very unpleasant. The waiter enquired as to whether I liked it - and I explained that it was just a bouillon not thickened with egg and he replied 'yes that is how we do it here'. I then ordered sweet and sour chicken and as I was alone in wanting some veg, the waiter kindly suggested a half portion of bok choi. The chicken came minus sweet and sour sauce but was floating in some juice from a can of tinned pineapple and fruit cocktail and its juice. I asked whether they could bring the gorgeous tangy, orange coloured sticky sauce separately so I could just pour it on top (hong kong style) but the waiter said that they do not provide sweet and sour sauce. The waiter asked how we found the meal, which both my husband and I confirmed was not to an acceptable standard and explained why. The waiter returned with a full price bill, no explanation, and charged 3/4 of the price of the veg for the half portion. When questioned, the waiter said 'just because you order a half portion doesn't mean you pay half price' and re the chicken 'thats our interpretation of sweet and sour chicken'. 45 euros wasted on a poor meal ... If thats 'how you do it here' then I wont be coming back here!!

Also known as the Wok Restaurant, the Jasmine Garden is excellent. A huge choice of dishes already laid out on the buffet or freshly cooked. Choose the ingredients... meat, fish or vegetables, take the plateful to the "Hot Grill" chef or the "Stir Fry" chef and he will cook it there and then, adding sauces of your choice. The ready cooked buffet is nice but the Hot Grill and Stir Fry options are better. Highly recommended.
